On my way home Mali saw me in her car and stopped me. "Hey girl, where'd the roses come from? Secret admirer?" The fact that she thought it was a secret admirer was odd, like how'd she know? They were actually from Kyle, I read the card during lunch.
"It's from a friend of mine, Kyle." I said smiling at her. "He totally likes you, unless you're together?" She asked. "We're just...friends I guess." I wasn't sure what to call him yet, I just met him yesterday. "Yeah okay," Mali said sarcastically "he totally likes you, anyway I'll catch you later!" Mali then drove off.
I walked inside my house and set the roses down. "Oooo who are those from?" My mom asked with a bright smile on her face. "Someone sent them to me at school today, aren't they cute?" I said smiling. It was really a rhetorical question though; they were cute, and it was just that obvious.
"We can put them right over here if you want, they'll make a nice centerpiece." My mom brought the vase to the center of the kitchen table. "Where's dad? At the bakery?" I asked her. She nodded her head yes. "It was a slow day today, all we had scheduled for the day was pick-ups, so he's there handling that."
I went to the freezer and pulled out frozen fruits. "You're really into those things huh?" My mom asked. "Try a sip, it's really good." She tried a sip and went to make a smoothie for herself. "We'll have to start buying a lot more of these." She admitted.
I plopped myself down on the sofa and turned on the television. I was never much of a TV watcher, but I had nothing better to do. I quickly texted Kyle a thank you text for the roses, and told him how much I adored them.
H: Thank you so much for the roses, they're so beautiful!
K: Beautiful flowers for a beautiful girl!
I blushed so hard.
