I turned my focus to face Hazel. "Oh fuck I can't believe I just told you that." Hazel broke down and lost it. "Wait, what do you mean Hazel?" I looked her in the eyes digging for seriousness.

"Calum I saw Luke, and then Kyle freaked out and he...hit me. That's when I..." Hazel didn't finish her sentence. But it's okay because I didn't really want her to... "Hazel I'm so sorry, fuck I should've been there for you.  But who's Kyle?" Hazel never mentioned anything about this Kyle guy, unless she did and I never heard anything from anyone else? I don't know. I hugged Hazel, I guess she really needed it this time.

"He's my boyfriend...it's alright Cal."  I shook my head in denial.  "No it's not, and you're not seeing him again."  I was furious.  Why would she say it's okay after he fucking put his hands on her?  "Calum please don't tell anybody. Okay? Promise me."  Hazel, I assume, didn't want anyone else knowing so it wouldn't explode.  "I promise, under one condition..."

What's this condition?" Hazel looked up at me with a look of sadness maybe frustration...I couldn't tell. "Promise me you won't go back to him. Promise me. Right now.  Hazel I'm serious."  Although me and Hazel went through a lot, especially recently, I still cared a lot about her. I wanted to protect her. She's a sweetheart and I did a lot of damage.  "Calum... he's my boyfriend, I can't just abandon him like that..."

I was disappointed. Also confused. He hurt her, he put his hands on her and she wanted to go back to him? What's making her want to? "You know this isn't right. You know exactly what you're choosing isn't right." I was emotional.  I don't know what I was feeling, but I can for sure say it was because of her. "Calum, it was just one-" Hazel was literally defending an abuser, and it mad me sad but angry even. How could she be so forgiving?

"Yeah, that's what's they all say..." I had to leave, because I could not just sit there knowing she's letting someone hurt her. There wasn't anything I could do about it either. This was her life, and something she wanted.  Luke walked into the room as I left. I think they both left because I heard the door close and neither of them walked back in.

I plopped down on the couch next to Michael. "Everything okay mate?" He paused the game that was playing, interrupting Ashton and himself. I sighed and held my head in my hands. Everything was just way too complicated now. "Yeah I'm alright."
