'Restricted Section'

"Kindly tell me how Jun ended up washing the dishes tonight?" Umangat lang ang gilid ng labi ko sa tanong ni Milo sa akin at tsaka namin tiningnan si Jun na tahimik na naghuhugas ng pinggan dun sa sink. Lumapit pa si Wolfie sa kanya at naglagay ng dalawang bowl sa sink. Jun just hissed at him pero hindi naman natinag si Wolfie.

"He lost a bet." Nakangiti kong sagot at tiningnan si Wolfie na nagpapagpag ng dumi sa jacket niya. The encounter earlier was still fresh in my mind. How I saw Wolfie standing in front of a tall and muscular guy, asking him on why he interfered at the canteen? Hindi ko naman alam kung anong nangyari sa canteen at kung bakit pinag-iinitan si Wolfie.

But Wolfie didn't even bat an eyelash at him. He just transformed into his wolf form and just like that, after seeing Wolfie's wolf form, they all bowed down in defeat. The power that this little human has.

"Stop calling me little, Xin." I almost jumped out of my seat because of it. Tiningnan ko agad si Wolfie na angat-labing nakatingin sa akin. Was I thinking too loud again? "Alpha to alpha. There's a connection." Sabi niya at hindi na niya kailangan ipaliwanag pa ang sinabi niya para maintindihan ko ito. It's not like he hears my thoughts, he just kindda knows what I'm thinking since he's involved in my thought. At least that's how I understand the way it works.

"Can I have a glass of milk po?" Po. Xy knows how to use that word now without even hesitating. Tiningnan ko lang si Xy na nakatingala kay Jun dahil si Jun lang naman 'yung nandun sa kusina.

"In a minute, baby. After I'm done with the dishes." Nakangiting sabi ni Jun sa kanya. And that's when I realized something. Something so dangerous to say out loud. I blocked my thoughts on my own. Ngumiti lang ako at kinagat ang ibabang labi ko. I'll save this thought for myself. It's a highly-sensitive thought.

"I'll do it." Pagpepresenta ko at tumayo na. Lumingon pa sa akin si Xy pero bigla nalang niyang hinarangan ang fridge.

"No! I'm supposed to protect you! Dun ka na sa sofa where it's warm and cozy." Hindi ko mapigilang matawa dahil sa sinabi ni Xy. Pinisil ko nalang ang pisngi niya at kumuha na ng gatas sa fridge para sa kanya. "Hot or cold?" Tanong ko kay Xy. He was obviously debating to himself on whether to let me give him milk or not. Pero nung tiningnan niya ang pack ng gatas sa kamay ko ay natawa nalang ako sa mukha niya. It looked like the bottle of milk is tempting him.

"B-Both please." Jun just giggled because of Xy.

"Okay, I'll do it. Now go to the sofa where it's warm and cozy." Sabi ko sa kanya. Xy just scrunched his nose but gave up anyway. Nagtimpla na ako ng gatas niya at tsaka na binigay sa kanya dun sa sofa. He immediately stood up and drank it. Sometimes, Xy's thoughts are very mature. But sometimes, he's just a wee little baby just like his Dad.

His Dad. Hmm. I wonder why that doesn't sound cringe anymore. But instead, it sounds just about right.

"Tama ba ang narinig ko?" Agad kaming napatingin sa pinto kung saan kakapasok lang si Seth at nasa likuran niya sina Jayden at Joshua. Some of the members immediately looked at Wolfie who was sitting on the other end of the sofa, in front of me. Tumango lang si Wolfie at binalik ang tingin niya sa TV.

Seth shrugged off his jacket and walked towards us. Umupo na sa tabi ko si Jayden at tiningnan lang ako tsaka tiningnan si Seth na nakatayo sa harap ni Wolfie.

"Ba't ka pa pumatol dun?" Tanong ni Seth sa kanya. Wolfie just huffed out a laugh.

"That alpha, challenged me." Tipid na sagot ni Wolfie. Wolfie's really not good at making his point but at times like this, I get his point clearly. Pero sa tingin ko ay parang hindi pa nakukuha ni Seth ang ibig niyang sabihin. "So, he just challenged you and you accepted?" Seth asked, almost sounding pissed. I saw the change in Wolfie's gaze as he licked his lips.
