Not exactly a style but then maybe it is one.
Or rather it is a style statement.
An ancient one, antiquated and old
Should be out dated but one which is always modern.
A contradiction, a free flowing drape with a structured fall.
An antithesis, of classy weaves and simple folds.
An artist's canvas for an ordinary woman.
Soaring imagination trapped in yarn and thread
An everyday wear crafted by a master.
Fit for a princess and perfect for a bride
Suitable office wear and comfortable at home
Woven in gold, silver, or plain coloured strands
Capturing life and nature in equal measure
A myriad shades and a thousand hues
Or a single colour shifting in the light
A ubiquitous garment that can be worn in a million ways
Then made into a cradle or used to wipe sweat away
Carrier of memories and harbinger of dreams
And passed from mother to daughter as a keepsake
It is a six yards of woven wonder
The simple saree, but so extraordinary, it is magical
