"Open your mailbox and write something inspired by one of the pieces of mail you received."

One thing? That is tough and boring. Let me make it a general one.

Official mail, unless it is regarding the declaration of the holiday or one from the HR detailing my increments, most of the time the response is "Okay", "Oh no" to "How can I get away with murdering them in the most painful way possible" and finally "what did I really do in all the lives that I have lived that Karma is punishing me this way?"

Personal mail involves a wider range of emotions, from joy (when I hear from friends, or get a confirmation that something I have ordered is out for delivery (that is like a present to myself) or notifications to some subscriptions I have) to disappointment to frustration to resignation.

But then email is not so personal, I miss the days when we could receive the 'physical' letter and greeting cards. The smell of paper with the aroma of ink and the stink of dust - that is the fragrance of memories.
