For reasons that were pretty obvious, you had no clue how to respond to George or even what to say.
Your mind had clouded up almost immediately after he'd admitted feeling the same way towards you.
In your panic and your shock, you ran to the floo in the twin's flat and flooed to the small house that your brother had moved into just a couple of roads over from your family home.
When you walked out of the floo, you were breathing heavily and shook the soot off of your clothes.
You heard footsteps running down the stairs and your brother's panicked face soon appeared in front of you.
"What on earth are you doing here hen?"
You shrugged sheepishly. "I didn't know where else to go."
"What happened?"
He motioned for you to sit down on the sofa and he followed suit. "I had a bit of a conversation with George,"
Nodding, your brother leant back and waited for you to continue.
"I messed up and said something I shouldn't have, and then when he agreed with me, I didn't know what to do."
He sighed, running a hand through his short hair. "If you said what I'm thinking you said hen, he's probably sat in his flat very distraught right now."
As you let Oliver's words sink in, you realised that he was right.
Without saying goodbye to your brother, you ran back to the floo for a second time and flooed back to the twins' flat.
It seemed as if George hadn't moved since you left, and he looked up in shock when you came out of the floo.
"I am so sorry," you quickly apologised to him as you sat down on the sofa next to him for the second time that evening.
He sighed as he shook his said. "You know you didn't have to run out on me lass, I would've taken no for an answer."
"I don't want you to take no for an answer," you told him confidently. "I just had no clue how to reply – I have spent the past however many years knowing that I liked you and I thought it was in a brotherly way at first but then we were so close and I've spent the past couple of weeks helping you out here and it's brought back my school crush which I thought I'd gotten over," you rambled at him.
George stared at you in shock. "You had a crush on me during school?"
You sighed. "Was it not obvious? I always thought it was."
He shook his head. "I quite liked having you around me so much."
"Did you like me in school?" you asked feeling quite bold in that moment.
He chuckled, blushing ever so slightly. "How could I not lass? You're absolutely beautiful, you took an interest in our pranks and actually wanted to watch our quidditch practices."
His words caused you to blush quite furiously and a smirk arose on George's face at your reaction.
"I just didn't think having a crush on my best mate's sister would go down to well."
Giggling, you smiled at him. "Well I'm pretty sure Oliver knows that."
"And how would he know?"
"I just went to talk to him, he told me that you would be feeling distraught at me running out like I did."
George sighed, leaning back into the sofa but he turned his head to face you. "He knows me quite well then lass."
"I didn't know how to take it," you admitted softly.
George stood up from the sofa and then knelt in front of you, leaning his arms on your thighs.
"You have to understand that I've had this crush on you for years; I never thought you'd return it, I was just the sister and yes I became a friend but I'm still at Hogwarts and I didn't think you'd want anything to do with a girl who was still at school."
Shaking his head, George placed his hand on top of yours and intertwined your fingers. "C'mon lass, you should know by now that I think a school girl is undeniably hot."
As you rolled your eyes you couldn't help but laugh. "Where do we go from here George?"
"Well the bedroom would be a natural choice," he joked leading you to shove his shoulder as he laughed. "I meant to sleep lass! But honestly we can go at whatever pace you want to."
You smiled at him and blushed when he kissed the back of your hand.
"And I'd think after your declaration of love for me, you wouldn't be opposed to me asking you out on a date."
Shaking your head, he smiled.
"Maybe you could stay here for the rest of the summer?" he suggested quietly. "And floo to your parents' house to see them?"
"Is this because you can't let me go Weasley?"
He pulled you down from the sofa and into his arms, the both of you laughing as you tumbled back onto the floor.
You pushed up above him with your hands on either side of his face.
He moved one hand up to tuck a fallen curl back behind your ear. "I never want to let you go lass."
