Helga Hufflepuff- Conflict (a)

Helga sat alone at the table eating her dinner, overlooking Godric and Salazar as they bickered (as they always did) about the placement of their respective common rooms. She sat there and pushed her food around with her fork, she looked solemn and glum which was not very common.

"What's wrong Helga?" You asked as you placed your bowl of soup next to hers and took a seat.

"Nothing Y/N... don't worry about it." She pushed her bowl away and slumped into her seat.

"No Helga, come on, tell me what's wrong. Has Salazar been his usual self?"

"No... well yes... but that's not the issue... Kinda." She twiddled her thumbs and sighed deeply.

"I just feel... they're ruining what this school is supposed to be about." She whispered, hoping to stay out of Salazar's earshot, but they were arguing loud enough to drown out a competing mandrake.

"This school is supposed to be about unity and bringing wizards and witches from all over the world here to study and to become better people. Those two buffoons are using it to show how great they seem to think they are. Godric seems to think he is building an army and Salazar wants to brew the next great dark wizard."

She crossed her arms on the table and rested her head on top.

"I don't think I want to be a part of this anymore Y/N."

Helga was partially interrupted when a fork flew past her and stuck into a wooden beam, you looked over to see a Godric who looked at least partially sorry, but it didn't last long before he was back at Salazar's throat.

"I know what you mean Helga." You tried to comfort her as best as you could, putting your arm around her and hugging her. "But it will be okay, we need you here, you are the only one that can at least attempt to keep the peace between those two idiots. They'll both calm down eventually, you know what happens when you leave two men in a room together for long enough, it always ends in conflict."

She laughed and wiped a tear from her pale cheek.

"I guess I do need to at least try and keep them in check, this place has only just finished but im sure they would be able to bring it down in a day or two if nobody kept an eye on them."
