It was hard to ignore the four boys stood nearby arguing amongst themselves. You tried not to pay them attention, but you couldn't help but peer over the top of you book to see what they were doing.

You had hoped for a peaceful afternoon, sitting with your back against a tree by the lake. All you wanted was to get some reading done, whilst taking in the nice weather which was rare to find. Sadly, your peace was ruined by the four boys deciding that next to you was the perfect place to bicker with each other, leaving you to try and keep focus on the words on the page.

As you looked up from the page, you saw that Remus Lupin was one of the boys amongst his friends. Although you didn't know him too well, you had liked him for quite a while, but you weren't prepared to admit it to him or anyone else out of fear that he wouldn't like you in return. You noticed him be pushed from the group and awkwardly make his way towards you, making your heart jump in your chest.

He sat down beside you, leaving enough space between you so that he wouldn't accidentally make contact with you. Remus took a deep breath before turning towards you, a nervous smile upon his face.

"Um... um... hi... Y/N," he said, his voice shaky.

His three friends stood nearby, watching what was going on between the two of you.

"Hi Remus," you smiled back, struggling to look up from your book, not wanting to make eye contact with him as you knew your cheeks would quickly give you away.

"Um... I... I wanted to ask you something," he croaked. "I... know... I know that... um... it's a little abrupt to ask this but... um..."

He trailed off, trying to think of his words but he hadn't had enough time to think everything through.

"You can ask me anything Remus," you smiled softly, trying to comfort him but it was hard when you were equally as nervous.

Remus took another deep breath. "I wanted to know if maybe you would like to go out on a date with me? I understand if you don't want to go with me... I wouldn't blame you but um... I kind of like you and have for a while."

A grin curled onto your lips. "Well... I've liked you for a while too. I would love to go on a date with you."
