When Marvin was a 15, his parents sent him to a pen pal group. His parents said it was because he needed more friends. But Marvin knew it was because they wanted him to leave the house more.

When Whizzer was 10, he decided to join his schools pen pal program. He loved the idea of making new friends and especially friends outside of country.

When Marvin was assigned his pen pal,  he was over the moon. A 10 year-old boy called Whizzer Brown. He was from Perth, Australia. Marvin smiled. He was finally going to have a younger brother...in another country.

When Whizzer was assigned his pen pal, he told everyone. His pen pal was Marvin. A 15 year-old from New York City, USA. Whizzer was going to have a friend who was older than him. And for a 10 year old. That's a pretty big deal.

When Marvin was 18 and Whizzer was 13 they stopped writing to each other. Both of the boys were lucky enough to have computers. This way they could use chat rooms to talk. At first it was hard with the time differences, but they soon got the hang of it all.

As the two got older, there wasn't a day that went by where they didn't speak. Their relationship grew and grew. By the time Whizzer was 20 and Marvin was 25, they couldn't hide it any longer. They were in love. But they'd never met. They'd never heard the others voice. What if as soon as that happened...they would loose interest.

When Skype was release in 2003, both were hesitant to download it at first. A 25 year-old and a 30 year-old were scared of the internet. But it didn't disappoint. In fact, they fell harder.

"Whizzer I love you." Marvin said out of the blue.

"I love you too." Whizzer answered "What's wrong? You look sad."

"I am. We've known each other for years now. We love each other, but we have never met. And I wasn't to do this is person but I know we both can't afford flights over." Marvin sighed. "So , I know this isn't the best way to do this but. Whizzer, as soon as it becomes legal, will you marry me?"

"Awww Marvin. Of course I will. But can we make a pact?" Whizzer smiled.

"Sure. What kind of pact?"

"We don't meet until our wedding day."

"Deal"

Marvin couldn't wait for his marriage to become legal. All he had to do was wait. And boy was it a long 8 years for him. By July 24th, 2011, Gay marriage was legal in New York. As soon as it was released, Marvin ran Whizzer.

"Whizzer it's happening... we're gonna get married"
