A/N So I thought I was back writing but then I hit a wall again and had no ideas what so ever so I'm taking this as a sign that this is gonna end soon.

Whizzer had always been careless. Well not always.

When Whizzer first found out he was immortal, thousands of years ago, he hid away from the world. He couldn't understand why everyone around him was dying while he still looked like he was 25. He stayed hidden and watched as the world around him progressed. But as well as keeping hidden, he travelled too. He watched from afar as civilizations started, grew and fell. His main aim was not getting to attached to people. Getting attached meant heartbreak.

Many times Whizzer had tried to find someone else like him. But mentioning something like that can turn out to be a bad idea. To cheer himself up, Whizzer often thought back to his time in ancient Rome where the people thought he was a God sent to earth. Some of the best and most uncomfortable years of his life.

What Whizzer never thought would happen was the change he would go through every hundred years. Every century meant a new identity for Whizzer. It was a lottery for Whizzer on where his new identity would take him. By the year 800 he'd pretty much been to every single village , town and city in the world. It then became the case of seeing how the places had changed since he'd last seen them thousands of years before.

But Whizzers luck soon ran out. It was 1354 when Whizzer woke up one morning expecting to be in a completely new body, but that wasn't the case. Thinking it just was a mistake, Whizzer just waited for the next hundred years to be up. But the change never came. This made things a lot harder, but a lot more fun at the same time. It 1487 when Whizzer started to turn up in tapestries and paintings. If he was stuck with the same face, why not have some fun with peoples minds.

~~1979~~

Jason had always been interested in History, chess was his first priority but history was a close second. So when Jason heard about the man who kept appearing through different parts of time, he couldn't have been more interested.

Jason took out every book at the local library that he could find. his room was filled with papers and notebooks full of information he found out about this man. In the first notebook he got for his research, the first page had a very messy note written on it.

Fins him and make him your friend, he look's like he could use one.

Trina began to worry about her son. She could handle his obsession with chess. But two obsessions, and it being a man... Trina was definitely worrying.

"Jason, why are you so obsessed with this man?" Trina finally asked the young boy one night.

"I'm not obsessed, in just interested in him." Jason replied not taking his eyes away from the book he was reading.

Trina's face went pale, "Honey, you know you can talk to me about anything don't you. But this, this seems like a situation your father should handle."

"Not like that!" Jason laughed, "I mean his story interests me. This man is immortal he has witnessed hundreds if not thousands of years of history. He could tell me about the American revolution or how the pyramids were built."

Trina breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at her son, "Okay Jason, you carry on researching."

But research as mush as Jason did, he finally hit a wall. No one had seen the immortal man since the start of the Second World War. He'd been missing for 40 years. The routine he held seemed to be showing up in a few photos every decade. But there was nothing. The last photo there was around was him in a trench along with a few other soldiers, most likely French soldiers due to their uniform and the date on the back of the photo.

There were many theories about what happened to him. Did he finally die, had he been captured during the war and experimented on to find a chance for immortality for others, had he gone into hiding? No one knew.

So you can imagine the shock on Jason's face when the man entered his home after his father.

"Jason this is Whizzer, Whizzer this is my son Jason." Marvin smiled.

"Nice to meet you Jason." Whizzer smiled and stretched out his hand for Whizzer to shake.

But instead of shaking his hand, Jason grabbed his hand and dragged him up the stairs. Marvin laughed and followed the pair up. Jason opened his bedroom door and pushed Whizzer inside and the dragged in Marvin when he got their.

"It's you! You're the immortal man!" Jason shouted.

"I thought I recognised you from somewhere, I just thought it was because of all of the bars I've been in." Marvin laughed.

"Dad, how are you so calm about this?" Jason asked.

"Stranger things have happened." Marvin laughed, "I'll leave you two to talk."

Jason sat on his bed and tapped the space next to him, Whizzer sat down and smiled.

"Why now?"

"Why now what?" Whizzer asked.

"Why settle down now? You've been on your own for years. You never got married never stayed with people longer than a few years. Why my dad?" Jason asked.

"Well being on your own for thousands isn't that fun after thousands of years. And after the wars I changed as a man. I'm hoping that if falling in love made me immortal, falling in love again will stop it. And you're dad seems like the right man. I hope that doesn't bother you."

Jason smiled and hugged Whizzer, "I've wanted to be your friends ever since I heard about your story."
