I Never Wanted To Love You (or did I...)

A/N This isn't the best chapter to have a dedication on but I actually liked writing this

Is that a bad thing to say.

Pain.

That's all Whizzer felt. Time felt as though it had slowed down. This wasn't the first time it had happened. But it was the first time people had seen it happen.

Trina often wondered why there would always be a silence after she heard them fighting. She wondered why Whizzer would apologise even though it was Marvin who had started the argument. And now she had the confirmation she need.

It was a normal Sunday afternoon before the event went down, well as normal as it could be. Trina had invited Mendel over to join the dysfunctional family for lunch. Marvin and Mendel had sat opposite Whizzer and Trina with Jason at the head of the table.

They had originally been talking about Jason's progress in school. It was all going smoothly until Marvin started to belittle his own son over his dropping grades.

"That's no way to talk to your son!" Trina had snapped back.

"It's your fault Trina!" Marvin replied "His grades are dropping because of you tearing the family apart."

"Me?! You cheated on me remember!"

"Only because you were a pathetic excuse of a wife."

"Hang on a minute Marvin, this is not Trina's fault" Whizzer interjected "It's ours."

"No way is this my fault Whizzer! You seduced me!"

"I think you'll find that you approached me and flirted with me first! I am not to blame for all your mistakes"

As the pair carried on shouting down each other's throats, Mendel escorted Jason out of the room. Whizzer and Marvin stood up from the table and stared at each other, face to face. Trina had never seen them argue like this before. And it was all because Whizzer defended her.

"Whizzer! Marvin! Jason is in the other room!" Trina snapped as she tried to pull Whizzer away. Mendel and Jason returned to see if they could help in anyway.

"See Whizzer your making the family situation worse! You are a home wrecker and you always will be!"

"Stop making my love for you hard to get Marvin! It's to hard to want because your ego is so big. You're building your perfect little world  but you need to be careful because it's pushing people away. And I can't wait to be the first to leave. You're never going to get your perfect fami..."

Trina gasped. Mendel held Jason who was about to cry. Whizzer just stared at the wall and held his cheek. Marvin stared at his hand.

"I'm sorry..." Whizzer whimpered. He walked back to his chair and carried on eating.

"Whizzer...Are you okay?" Jason asked.

Whizzer placed his knife and fork down. Marvin began to walk towards him but he stood up and stepped away. Marvin reached to grab his lovers hand but Whizzer went and stood behind Trina. She grabbed his hand and held him close.

"I think you should leave Marvin." Trina said.

"Why should I be the one to leave? He ruined the family!" Marvin snapped.

"But which one of you in the victim in an abusive relationship!" Trina snapped back.

Whizzer stepped away and went into the living room. He sat down and sobbed. He'd never thought about it before but Marvin was abusive. He covered his face and slide of the couch and onto the floor.  Marvin and Trina could be heard shouting from the other room.

"You verbally and physically abuse that poor man everyday! I'm surprised he's stayed with you this long. He deserves so much more Marvin! So much more. I'm not gonna even act like I haven't seen the bruises on his arms. Or the red hand marks on his face. Because it's there Marvin! It's right there!"

Marvin left that night. And to say Whizzer was relieved was a lie. He hated how the arguments would end with him getting hurt in one way or another but he loved him. Marvin was loving and kind. But he was viscous and mean. Whizzer knew he had to decide.

His relationship? or his safety?

But he would never have to choose. Marvin chose for him, like always. Because, he didn't come back that night.
