A/n I love the AU about having a timer on your wrist that counts down until you find your soulmate. I've always wanted to write one so here it is.

Also, do you want me to write about other people. I seem to be in a Whizzvin loop. Whoops.

Since the beginning of time, people had timers on their wrists. It had been hereditary. Everyone knew what they were for. It was supposed to be easy. The timer was something cherished. As soon as it was up, you knew you had found the one. But Marvin's was broken.

Marvin knew he was destined for loneliness. His timer didn't work. There was no numbers. It was just blank. Just a simple three lines across his wrist. It had been like that since he was born. For most of his childhood, he had been ridiculed by the other children. He had to watch as people began to meet their soulmates. The watching never stopped.

It was a dull February day. Marvin was on his usual walk to work. But something didn't feel right. His wrist was itching. He felt ill. Marvin wanted to stay at home, but something was telling him not to. The more he itched his wrist, the more the lines disappeared. He felt like a scratch card. When he arrived at work he ran into the toilets and locked himself in a stall. For the next five minutes he began to scratch and rub his wrist. He squinted. A faint outline of numbers was appearing. He watched as the numbers became clearer. 5 minutes. He couldn't believe it. This was his chance. He was gonna meet the one. It was finally time.

Marvin's aim was to act normal. He was trying not to freak out, but seeing a number on your wrist that had never been there before was an exciting moment. His aim was to not hinder the moment. He tried to think of things that he would usually do at work. The thought of jeopardising the only thing he had wanted more than anything in the world was causing his anxiety to go over the top. What if he didn't like them? What if he made one wrong move that stopped them from meeting? A knock came from the other side of Merlin's door.

He slowly left his chair so he could open the door. But before he did he checked his arm. 30 seconds and counting. He grasped onto the handle. Please let them be a good person. I don't care about look I just want them to have a good personality. Marvin widened his eyes as he saw the person that stood before him.

He was taller than Marvin, which was slightly annoying. Marvin could tell that if they argued he would place things in higher shelves so that the latter couldn't reach them. Marvin was mesmerised by his eyes. To most brown eyes meant nothing, but  the brown eyes looking back at him meant a whole lot of somethings. The pair looked down at their wrists as it slightly vibrated. Time was up.

"Huh, well I never would've thought my soulmate was a guy" Marvin laughed. "I'm Marvin."

"Whizzer." He smiled "I'm new here. I don't supposed my soulmate would like to show me round"

A/N sorry I haven't posted in awhile I've been busy. I think this is a nice short chapter to come back to though. Updates will happen more often now I promise.
