"GET OUT"
"I HATE YOU"
"YOU'RE SELFISH"
"YOUR THE WORST PATIENT"
"I CANT STAND YOU"
"IM ASHAMED TO CALL YOU DAD"
"I NEVER LOVED YOU. IM GLAD WE GOT DIVORCED"
It was now official. Marvin had lost everything. He'd lost his sons trust. He'd lost his psychiatrists respect. He'd lost the last fraction of a the relationship he'd got with his wife. He'd lost his lover. His house. His job. Marvin had lost everything.
~~2 years later~~
The streets were cold on the late September night. Marvin grabbed the blankets he had and wrapped himself in them. He moved closer into the corner and drank the coffee some woman had brought him.
Marvin had lost contact with everyone. The only person he had was himself. He decided he would go for a walk. He packed everything into his small backpack and headed to the nearest public bathrooms.
He quickly freshened himself up with the small soap bar he had gotten from somebody handing out samples and changed into some clothes he had cleaned at the laundromat a few days before with some change he found on the street. He put on his jacket and walked around.
That day Marvin had collected $5.75. Enough for a coffee at his favourite café. He walked in and ordered his coffee. The owner smiled when she saw him and, much to Marvin's protest, didn't accept his payment. He thanked her and sat at his usual table. The back corner.
Purple Tree Café was a small business. To make extra money, people would book slots and perform what they wanted. The performers would be tipped by the people in the café. Marvin had done this before. That night he made $100. Enough to buy himself and his old friend some food and another blanket. Sadly, that same night, his friend died from an overdose.
He was brought out of his thoughts by a voice.
"Good evening ladies and gents. Please put your hands together for our first performer, Whizzer Brown..."
Marvin froze in his seat. Whizzer hadn't changed one bit. He still dressed fashionably. He was still bright and bubbly. He was still his ex boyfriend...
"Good evening, tonight I'm going to be singing for you." Marvin smiled, Whizzer was now singing for people like he had always dreamed "The song I have chosen is..."
Marvin didn't care what song it was. He was just happy he got to look and listen to Whizzer again. He smiled as he saw him enjoying himself again. He was living the life Marvin could never help him get. He was free from Marvin's rules and regulations. Marvin sank in his seat and Whizzer started walking around and performing by people's tables. Thankfully the song ended before he could get anywhere near Marvin.
"Thank you Whizzer Brown, that's was an amazing performance." The owner announced "Whizzer will now answer questions and collect any tips for the next five minutes"
People rushed up to him giving him money and talking to him. Marvin waited for the crowd to die down. He grabbed the $5 from his bag and collected all his stuff.
He went to Whizzer and saw everyone else had given him tens and twenties. He gave him his five and apologised "I'm sorry that's all I have." He quickly left before Whizzer could speak or notice it was him.
~~ a couple hours later ~~
Marvin looked at the clock above the Library door that was across the street. 8:30pm. Marvin buried himself in the blankets in an attempt to save himself from the nippy air.
