Today was the day. It had taken 23 years for the pair to meet. But the 23 long years were definitely worth the wait. The pair had planned all of their wedding across the 8 years. Everything was ready. They had found a venue, a dj and a cake maker in the week counting up to Whizzer's flight.

Whizzer searched for hours to find the quickest flight. But the distance between Perth and NYC is pretty far. The quickest he found was just over 28 and a half hours. But thankfully he had a stop in Dubai for 3 hours.

Whizzer sat in a small café during his stop in Dubai. He pulled out his laptop and opened Skype.

"Hello Whizzer! How was your first flight?" Marvin smiled.

"It was okay. It's a good job I opened my savings account. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to afford it." Whizzer laughed.

"I'm so excited to see you." Marvin beamed "Trina sent me to my room because 'if I keep acting like a child I'll get treated like one'"

Whizzer laughed. He loved Trina. She'd been friends with Marvin since they were young. They could always rely on each other. They were like siblings. He's met her a few times over Skype, but he couldn't wait to see her in person.

"Trina is going to pick you up from the airport. She said she's going to make a sign"

"I'd love to keep talking Marvin, but my flight has just been called. I love you. See you soon."

The next flight dragged for Whizzer. And for Marvin as well. He kept pestering Trina. Asking her when she was going to leave to pick him up. Telling her that she needs to call him when she's found him. In the end, Trina left the house to go to her own house. She was having Whizzer stay at her house because of the pact they made. It didn't take long for the time to slip away and for her to leave.

When she got there she saw the other people waiting for the flight. Trina looked around, everyone had boring signs. Her sign was definitely the best. Trina had covered it in hearts, rainbow and even a small kangaroo holding a pride flag. It didn't take long for her to get excited. She hadn't spoke to Whizzer  that often, but when they had the chance they spoke for hours.

She waited for awhile. She waited while all the other passengers left. She was the last one waiting. People would walk out every so often. But then she saw him. She smiled wide. Whizzer ran to her when he saw her. He threw his arms around her.

"It's nice to finally meet you Whizzer." Trina laughed.

"Oh just shut up and hug me." Whizzer replied.

The two stood in silence for a few minutes longer. Trina then felt her phone ring.

"Hi Marvin...yes...no...I told you no...I swear Marvin...if you do you'll ruin everything...I know...yes...I'll ask. Whizzer, Marvin wants to meet you now." Trina sighed.

"But it'll break the pact. Can I talk to him?" Whizzer asked.

Trina nodded her head and passed the phone over. "Hey...it's me...we can't Marv...because we made a pact...you have to wait two days...no one will die in that time...stop worrying...no and that's final!" Whizzer hung up the phone and passed it to Trina. "He said he wants to meet because a psychic told him something bad would happen during a massive life event"

Trina rolled her eyes "By psychic he means a magic 8 ball he got when he was a child. Let's just go home."

But they never made it home. They never stepped through Trina's front door. They never stayed up all night watching movies. They never spent the next day sleeping. They never went to the wedding.

Marvin ran to the hospital as soon as he got a call from Trina's husband. He ran in and saw Mendel waiting for him. He walked to Mendel and gave him a hug.

"How are they?" Marvin asked.

"Trina is talking to a doctor right now. They won't let us see Whizzer because we aren't family." Mendel confessed.

Marvin slumped into a chair. He didn't move until he was allowed to see him. He stayed over night in the waiting room. Mendel stayed with him.

"Marvin." The nurse called "You can see him now."

Marvin smiled slightly and followed the nurse to his room. The nurse knocked and then opened the door for him. "Be strong Marvin."

As he walked in, Whizzer looked up and smiled slightly.

"Hey Whiz."

"Hi Marv."

Marvin let out a small sob. He walked over and knelt down next to the bed. Whizzer grabbed the other mans hand.

"We broke the pact." Whizzer laughed.

"I don't think that matter right now. At least I know your real." Marvin replied.

"Or am I?" The pair laughed. "How's Trina?"

"She good, a few cuts and bruises but she should be fine. But how are you?"

"Apart from having a cast on my leg, I think I'm doing somewhat good"
