"You're kidding me, right? You find out I have snake scales and you just automatically..." There was this loud explosion and we both jumped up in fear. Next thing I knew Roman was flung in the room, landing right in front of me, broken and beaten. "Well shit. There goes our offense."
"Roman?!" Patton immediately ran over pulling Princy over to try and heel him. I looked out of the broken wall and frowned. Virgil had vanished... Most likely trying to set something up. His strength is illusions, and successful ones take time. Logan was unconscious in a wall and Roman was down as well. All that was left for our team was Patton and me, depending on how long Virgil plans on waiting. This isn't good. "Caz?"
"We're in a tough spot here, Pat." I looked over to see him nod and I frowned. One good thing Toast was down. There was no way he was getting back up right now and King was safely out of the way so there is that. Wilford and Chase both seem to be... for lack of a better word... Cowering in the corner of the room as Ghost stood there staring at me with bright glowing red eyes. This... This is a problem.
"Cassidy!" Ghost voice was higher than it should be and I could tell right away something was very wrong. His eyes narrowed and he pouted. "You're quiet. I don't like it. I can't hear anything thing from you."
"What are you talking about?" He smiled and brandished his knife laughing. The murderous aura I'm getting off of him was enough to make my skin crawl. And of course, I started to twitch.
"Do you want to know a secret, Caz? I know a very good one about Roman!" He laughed and I glanced over to see Patton with wide eyes shaking. "No.. oh well, it doesn't matter. I want to know your secret. I can't hear yours."
"Hey, Ghost?" His smile fell and I cringed.
"Jimmy Casket..."
"Ok, then, Jimmy..." I looked behind him and frowned. This stopped being a mock battle the moment he showed up. The teachers must have sensed something and it's only a matter of time before they show up but... just in case. I need to keep him busy. "Why don't you tell me some secrets huh? Like... What happened to Ghost?" He frowned and looked over in thought as I slowly inched my way over towards Logan. Patton shot me a worried look and I glared at him. Come on Pat get with the program here. Your the only one that can send a message to the teachers. I slowly started taking off my gloves and his eyes went wide.
"That's my secret. Those are ones I don't tell. At least not ones like that. How about I tell you a different one." He looked over at me and smiled brightly. "Like... I can't read. Ghost neither. We don't understand it, it's just something we've never been able to do."
"Ok, then my turn." His eyes went wide and I groaned as he clapped like a little kid. What am I supposed to do now? "Uh... In second grade, I came out as being powerless. When I did, I secretly wanted Roman to hate me. That way he would stay away from me... He did hate me but... he didn't stay so it didn't work." Patton froze and glanced over at me. I glared at him and he went back to focusing on what he was doing. Hopefully trying to send a message somehow. "Your turn." He looked away again to think and I inched even closer to Logan. Just a little closer...
"My mothers a man..." I froze and he just laughed. "...It's one of my secrets."
"Sure, that... That works." He raised an eyebrow at me and I frowned. "Right, my turn. Ok, um... My favorite color is actually red. Most people think it's yellow or green but... it's not. It's red."
"MY TURN!" He jumped up and I shook my head as he closed his eyes tightly. I managed to reach Logan just before he opened his eyes but I tripped and landed over him. It was embarrassing. Thankfully though... He was out cold. And I accomplished what I wanted to. I quickly put my gloves back on and jumped up as Jimmy stared at me in confusion. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing... I tripped." He frowned and his eyes glowed even redder. He held his knife up and I tensed up.
"Fine, My last secret... I know when people are lying. AND I KNOW WHEN THEY'RE PLOTTING SOMETHING!" He spun around so fast and threw the knife right at Patton. I screamed out as the knife lodged into Patton's chest and he dropped.
"What are you doing?" I jumped slightly and I shook myself out of my thoughts. I was not ready for that. "Caz? What are you..." I think I should mention now that... The scales aren't the only reason I wear the gloves.
"I tripped. I'm sorry. You were talking about a secret." He smiled brightly and I glanced over at Patton who was currently talking to a rabbit. What is with him and rabbits? I watched the little rabbit run out the door without anyone noticing and I smiled.
"Ok, well, I guess my last secret would be... I'm planning on killing you all so sending that rabbit out was pointless." I narrowed my eyes and he laughed and spun around.
"Patton SHIFT!" I yelled causing Patton to jump. Next thing I knew a small bird was flying through the air and Jimmy tensed up.
"BIRD!" He started freaking out and I frowned. This guy is seriously scared of birds! What the hell? Virgil could have figured...
"Boo!" I looked up to see Virgil hanging from a banaster with a smile on his face. He snapped his fingers and suddenly the whole room was filled with birds... And a pile of macaroni at his feet. I don't understand that at all. Jimmy practically froze up so much he wasn't even breathing. I saw him twitch once in fear and he dropped like a bag of bricks.
"WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!" I yelled up as Virgil dropped to the floor.
"What? It was hard to get a read on him. All I kept seeing was blood, ok? Ghost was terrified. Jimmy... not so much. That makes it harder for me."
