30. Enemy Attack (Roman)

I just stood there staring out at that mess of darkness. I could feel the evil rolling off of it in spades. The insanity... the electricity... the rage... You name it. It was consuming all the energy it passed like this insatiable beast. I felt someone grab my arm and I looked back to see Patton pulling me away.

"TOP OF THE MORNING TO YA LADDIES!" This voice screamed out through the black and I could see Mr. Mclaughlin tense up. I narrowed my eyes as the space in front of me began to glow slightly green. I looked around but no one else seemed to notice. It began to glitch and I slowly backed up until I felt someone grab me and I froze. This man popped up out of nowhere and I cringed seeing the scar across his neck. He had one green eye and by green, I mean the white of it was green. While the pupils were blue. His forest green hair matched his aura and I frowned. I could feel his blood lust. He gripped my arm tighter as this wicked smile formed and he laughed. "Mr. 476!"

"Anti!" Another voice boomed and saw the green man frown before looking over to see another man just pop in. He didn't glitch though. No... He had this 3d effect that made my head hurt. The color seemed to drain around him and I frowned. He looked very similar to Mr. Fischbach. Now that I think about it... Anti looked like...

"Sam?!" Mr. Mclaughlin just stared the green man, Anti, in complete shock. Anti laughed as he pulled me in wrapping his arm around my neck purposefully.

"Hello, Dad!" He held his hand out and this knife appeared causing Sean's face to go white. I tensed up feeling the intense buzz that was coming off of him. "We're looking for someone. Someone VERY special. Someone... strong."

"You will not find what you're looking for here." Sean walked out in front of the rest of the students to block them from getting hurt, but I could tell right now his focus was on me. Anti's grip got tighter as the cool steel blade pressed against my neck.

"NO!" My eyes went wide seeing Cassidy run out only for Felix to hold him back. "LET HIM GO!"

"Why? Mr. 476 is strong." I narrowed my eyes and looked up to see Anti still smiling. Why does he keep calling me that? Where did that number come... Wait. That's my power level. "You on the other hand..." I cringed seeing him point the knife at Caz. Anti shoved me out of the way only for me to be grabbed my the Darker man. The one who's aura makes me sick. I watched in horror as Anti walked over to Caz smiling like a mad man. Sean and Felix tensed up but Caz pulled himself out of Felix's grasp and just stood there. "I'm getting nothing from you."

"That's impossible..." The man holding me started to grumble and Anti shot him a dirty look pointing to his own head.

"Impossible but true, Dark." Anti started circling Caz I wanted nothing more than to kick his ass. "My power doesn't work on him. Now, why is that?" He held the knife up to Cassidy's neck I exploded with rage... well rage not fire. I looked back at the Dark guy and frowned seeing the sick smile he had. Whatever his power was it was affecting mine. I couldn't get free.

"Let him go." Cassidy repeated and Anti laughed shaking his head. 

"Not until we see Mr. Overkill." I narrowed my eyes and frowned as Anti spun around pointing his knife towards everyone. "I'm not sensing his power lever anywhere..." He rested his knife back on Caz and I started to struggle against Dark's grip. "...so that only leaves you." He went to attack him and I freaked out.

"HE'S POWERLESS!" Anti froze the moment my voice hit his ears and he slowly turned around smiling with his eyes wide. "He doesn't have a power level because he has no powers."

"Roman shut up!" Caz yelled at me but I wouldn't listen. I have to protect him. I can't... I can't lose him. I won't. I refuse to let that horrible nightmare come true.

"He's powerless. There isn't any reason to focus on him just... take me and be done with it."

"NO!" Cassidy screamed out again only to be held back by the teachers despite his struggles. Anti laughed as he glitched out reappearing right in front of me and grabbed me by the back of my neck. He forced me to the ground and kicked me right in the gut... HARD. "LEAVE HIM ALONE!" I looked over to see Cassidy practically crying as this man grabbed my shirt and punch me over and over again until the world went blurry. "I SAID ENOUGH!"

"Cassidy don't!" I looked up to see Caz tare himself from the teachers grasp and run at Anti. My heart nearly stopped the moment Anti brought his hand across Caz's face sending him flying back. The sound alone echoed in the silence but the look on everyone's face as Anti just laughed... He brought the knife to my neck and I could feel the cold metal cut into me. 

"I thought I told you..." The world exploded with this immense pressure and I looked over to see Cas on his hands and knees, his mask on the ground beneath him. The pressure only intensified as he struggled to his feet and I frowned seeing the explosion of familiar light flooding out of him. His mask still just laying there at his feet. "I thought I said..." Next thing I knew Caz had Anti by the neck with this look of pure rage in his eyes as he bared his fangs. "...to let him go." He through Anti off of me and just stood there cracking he neck, smiling. Anti laughed as he stood up and pointed at Caz. 

"Mr. 2361... Mr. Overkill." I narrowed my eyes seeing Caz just standing there. What is going on! This isn't real. This is a dream right. This has to be... Cassidy looked back at me and my face fell. His eyes were filled with such guilt. 

"Cassidy..." 

"Yeah yeah... I know." Caz cut Felix off causing the teacher to freeze up and I frowned. I watched as he slowly started to remove his hoodie and my eyes went wide. He was just standing there in a muscle shirt stretching himself out completely ignoring the scales that covered him... That covered Deceit. I watched him take his gloves off and Anti just laughed. For someone clearly insane he is being quite patient. "Focus and breath right?"

"Cassidy." He tensed up and looked back at me again with a frowned and I looked away. All this time... This ENTIRE time he's had these powers. He never told me once.

"I understand." My eyes went wide as I looked back to see him standing there in this tornado of energy orbs. 

"Hey Dark?" Anti tilted his head a bit with a smile as Dark crossed his arms. "Is it ok if I hurt him? As long as I don't kill him ri..." 

"Rethink your strategy." Caz held his hand out and I could see the air around him condense. "I'm not fighting you. No will be." I narrowed my eyes in confusion as I spotted Patton carefully rushing over to me. 

"I don't think you understand..." Dark started as he walked over to Anti only to freeze up.

"You came unprepared." The ground began to shake as he continued to build up energy. Felix's face went white and he and Sean started herding everyone away while Patton struggled just to get me to stand. 

"We have to go, Roman." I looked at Patton and frowned as he had to drag me away. I couldn't leave him. I didn't want to leave him. Cassidy... I can't... Caz...

"DECEIT!" I screamed out and watched as he looked back at me with this bright smile just before everything lit up. Patton and I were knocked on our asses as this mushroom cloud exploded out and I just sat there in shock. Cassidy... how... why... what... "CASSIDY!"

"We have to go, Roman. It isn't..." Patton froze seeing someone slowly walk out of the cloud only to fall and I freaked out. I ran over to him dispite the agony to find Cassidy unconsious, broken, and bleeding... Cassidy...

"Someone call an ambulance!"
