I watched as he took a deep breath holding his necklace tightly. I narrowed my eyes as the water in front of him began to ripple. He never did tell me the spell he was going to attempt. I watched as he narrowed his closed eyes in concentration. The water shot up out of the cup and he jumped at the sudden sound causing the water to fall around us soaking the rug.

"Hey, it's ok." He just stared at the floor almost defeatedly and I frowned. "Seriously Caz, It's ok. I remember the first time I tried a fire spell I burned..." He held his hands out and I frowned seeing the sparks coming off of his fingers.

"Fire is hard... Water is easy." I nodded as the sparkes turned into tiny flames that began to dance around his hands like a small light show.  He sighed and snapped causing the small flame to burst like fireworks and disappear in smoke. "Why are we focusing on Elemental spells?"

"Because there tangible. If you get a good enough grasp on them, then the others are simply... focusing on the task." That's when I got an idea in my head. "Example..." I took a deep breath and started the spell watching as the water mimicked the movements of my fingers until it shot up in the air. I cracked my neck and narrowed my eyes as I let my fingers glide through the spell until the water froze to ice. Caz watched in awe as he tapped the ice. His eyes lit up and I just smiled. He just... He comes alive with magic. Like the whole idea of it... I looked away feeling my cheeks start to warm up and I took another deep breath trying to shake myself from my thoughts. "Now you saw what I did there right?" He nodded and I smiled again. "It was just a simple water spell. The same one you attempted correctly?" Again he nodded. "All I did was compound it with a freezing spell. Again a simple..."

"What's the point of this?" I just laughed as I let my mind wander again. Spells filled my mind and I sifted through them to find the right one. I let my hands once again glide through the motions of the spell and I melted into the energy that built up around me. I looked over at Caz for just a moment and my breath nearly caught in my throat. He was watching every movement with childlike wonder. His eyes seem to sparkle with anticipation and his cheeks were dusted a slight pink. It took everything to not lose concentration. I felt the energy I had built up begin to branch out around me and I closed my eyes. The energy rippled and moved like the fluidity of the water. I held my hand out and imagined it pooling in my hand becoming solid like ice. There was a sudden burst and I could here Cassidy gasp and I opened my eyes to see this rose in my hand... no stem just the flower. His face was filled with this... euphoria. I handed the flower over and he held it gingerly in his hands. "How?"

"Materialization. It's about energy build up, forming, thought control, and the prosses of solidifying. Its mostly used for tiny things. Since I knew the general make biological makeup of the rose, I was able to make it." He held the rose up to his face and smiled. It was so pure... I took a deep breath before tapping the ice and I narrowed my eyes watching it instantly turning back to water. He carefully placed the flower in his hair and I was surprised as it stayed in place. He... he put it... Why?

"I... I'm gonna try again." My eyes went wide as he closed his eyes to indeed try again.

"What are you gonna try?" I asked cautiously as I watched him. I mean... maybe it was a fluke. He narrowed his closed eyes and I tensed up. "What spell?"

"The same one. The water one." I watched as he held his necklace tightly in his hands as he took a deep breath and began to focus. His breathing seemed to relax and I could see the tension just rolling off of him. I watched as the water began to ripple before slowly and carefully rising like a snake to a charmer. Speaking of snake... Its form began to change. Instead of turning into ice he shaped the water. The water snake climbed higher into the sky moving about like a real animal until... There was this sudden knock at the door and Cassidy jumped. The water splashed on top of me soaking my hair and shirt and I frowned getting up off the ground. At least it was only my shirt. "I'm sorry!"

"Don't worry about it." I smiled brightly seeing how tense Cassidy was. I wonder... Does he even realize he's speaking the truth to me? The knocking became more persistent and he looked over at me with this anxiety. "Would you like me to..." He shook his head and frowned as he slowly got up.

"No... I think I can do it. You just uh... You can hang your shirt up in the bathroom." I nodded as he walked over to answer the door. I sighed leaving him to handle it as I slowly took off my shirt to hang. I grabbed a towel off the rack and started to dry my hair before putting it over my neck and joining Caz just in case he needed me. I mean... I don't know why he's able to tell me the truth. Walking out I could already hear the sound of someone yelling and I frowned. I stopped short seeing who was at the door and their face went white the moment his eyes meant mine.

"Well, uh..." This felt awkward. "Salutation, Roman."
