The first thing I felt was a cold shiver running down my spine. My arm hairs stood at attention. I realised I was no longer leaning on Harry's lap. I opened my eyes and sat up. Everything joulted forwards.

"Bloody hell! What's happening?" Ron spoke, the fear seeping through.

I looked to left to see the man still sleeping and the window frozen with a hand print on it. To my right Harry was rubbing his hand together steam coming out of his mouth with each breath.

A figure started to float past the window of the compartment. A bony hand appeared amongst the black cloak. The lock turned opening the compartment. The hand pushed open the door before a black veiled head pocked in. My heart sank as I clutched onto Harry's hand. It glanced at Ron and Hermione before turning to Harry and I. Harry tensed as the face made eye contact with him.

I slid back bumping into the cloaked man causing him to stir. He quickly stood up wand braced as a bright whit light emitted from his wand. The figure was pushed out of the compartment by the light and soon was out of view. A heavy weight smacked onto my lap causing me to tense.

"Harry!" I started to shake him but he wasn't coming to.

It gradually started to get warmer within the carriage.

"Who are you four then?" The professor spoke as he reached down to get a better look at Harry.

"Hermione Granger." Hermione breathed out.

"Ron Weasley."

"Rose Potter and this is my brother Harry." I answered as I tapped Harry's shoulder.

A glance of recognition passed the professors eyes after I spoke. "He should been fine once he wakes up." The man answered.

"Harry? Harry, are you all right?" Hermione spoke as she reached over to shake Harry.

Hermione handed Harry his glasses once he came to. "Thanks." He said as he sat up.

"Here." The man said passing something to Harry. "It's all right. It's chocolate."

"What was that thing that came?" Harry asked.

"It was a dementor. One of the guards of Azkaban.  It's gone now. It was searching the train for Sirius Black." He said placing the rest of the chocolate next to Harry. "If you'll excuse me, I need to have a little word with the driver."

"Your leaving us? What if it comes back?" I panicked.

"It'll be fine, Rosie." Harry tried to calm me down which just resulted in me shaking my head.

"Can I come with you?" I asked the Professor. The only safe place on this train was with that man because he knew how to scare away these 'Dementors'.

"If you want, Miss Potter." He said as he stood in the entrance to the compartment.

I jumped to my feet and shuffled towards the door.

"Here Rose. Take your school stuff so you can get dressed before you come back." Hermione said offering me my bag.

"Thank you." I said as I grabbed it.

"Eat. You'll feel better." Professor Lupin said to Harry as he led the way out.

The door swung close behind us leaving Hermione, Harry and Ron in our compartment. I waved at them before turning to follow the Professor who was quite a way ahead.

"Wait up, please. I only have short legs." I called ahead of me. He stopped and waited for me to catch up. "Thank you." I said as I reached beside him.

"You're professor Lupin, right?" I asked causing him to nod. "What do you teach?"

"Defence against the Dark arts. How come you want to come with me surely you would feel better with your brother?" He responded.

"The safest place on this train is with you unless any of the NEWT students have mastered their Patronus Charm, which I highly doubt." I deducted.

"How do you know about the Patronus Charm? You're a 2nd or 3rd year." He asked back at me as we continued up the train.

"I'm a 2nd year. I missed most of my 1st year so I had catch up lessons. Dumbledore had Snape teaching me potions and defence against the dark arts due to our previous teacher having lost his memory. All my teachers were impressed with my progress so recommended reading ahead so I found some books in the library. I specialise in Charms according to Flitwick." I responded back.

I looked to my right into one of the carriages to make eye contact with none other than Draco Malfoy. He had definitely aged over the summer. I quickly looked away remembering his part in my petrification the previous year.

"You're a bright young witch." Professor Lupin spoke.

"You're what about 30? So you went to Hogwarts in the 70's" I asked.

"You indeed are right but I'm 33, Miss Potter. Not that a student should be asking that sort of question." Professor Lupin responded.

"I know but I was wondering if you knew my Mum or Dad." I answered back timidly.

"I was good friends with your Mother and Father. I knew you when you were just a baby too." Professor Lupin answered.

"You know me?" I asked puzzled.

"Yes. Your Mum and Dad made me your god-father." He answered as he stopped outside the bathrooms near the front of the train. "Go get dressed. I'll be back after I have spoken to the driver." He walked off leaving me in shock stood outside the girls toilets.

I have a god-father. Is he Harry's god-father too?

I turned into the bathrooms and made a dash for a cubicle and looked in behind me, not wanting to remain out in the open for too long. I quickly changed into my Gryffindor robes and stuffed my normal clothes back into my bag. When I left the bathroom my... god-father was already waiting.

"Gryffindor?" He asked a smile upon his face.

"Of course. Mum and Dad were Gryffindor." I responded.

"I was too." He smiled at me.

"So your my god-father?" I asked. "How come you didn't take in Harry and me after my parents died? Did you not want us?"

"Yes. I wasn't in the best of places when your parents passed. Of course I wanted you Rose but Dumbledore believed it was safer for you to grow up in a world without magic." He responded.

I nodded my head slowly understanding what he meant. "What's your full name?" I asked.

"Remus John Lupin. You're Rose Lily Potter." He spoke.

"Can I call you Uncle Remus?" I asked.

"Only when it's just us all right. Not a word of this to anyone else, okay?" He spoke. "Can't have anyone thinking I'm choosing favourites." He reached out timidly and pulled me into a hug which I happily returned wrapping my arms around him.

"Let's go tell Harry." I spoke happily, the events with the Dementor slipping into the back of my mind.

"I'm only your god-father, Rose. Harry has a different godfather." He spoke.

"Who?"

"It isn't my place to tell." He said. As I was about to open my mouth he shook his head. "Let's get you back to Harry before he thinks I've stolen you."
