CHAPTER 3: New beginnings

Perseus Jackson POV

I was seated at the breakfast table when my mom held my face in both her hands, "It will be alright Percy this is like a new beginning for you, enjoy it son, start over, everything will eventually fall in place." She said and then gave me my cereal. She must have seen me gloomy because of my break-up with Annabeth.

It was in the morning at camp half blood, a few weeks after the great war. Annabeth was my girlfriend then. Or so I thought- l ran out of the Poseidon cabin because I had woken up late, I saw a crowd gathered in the middle of the camp so I went to check it out. I walked through the crowd when I reach the middle, my heart just felt like it weighed a ton it was so hard for me to breath.

I had seen Antonio a son of Zues kissing Annabeth. When she saw me she walked up to me and said, "Percy, I'm gonna have to break up with you." When she saw my hurt face she continued, "You really didn't expect me to stay with you forever did you? I like you but...I mean like look at you and then look at me, were we really meant to be together? It would've never worked out with the feud between our parents."

I had nothing to say to her so I just walked out of the crowd while everybody stared at me with pity. I looked back at Annabeth and saw that she had gone back to her kissing. I went to the river and cried out, "Dad!" Poseidon materialized from the water. "I am so sorry about what happened son, is there anyway in which I could help?" he asked in a sad voice.

"I am fine, I know you and I don't meet eye to eye but please, is there anyway in which my demigod scent could be masked, please father I really want to go out of camp and get some air. I don't want to meet up monsters cause I wanna go to mom." I said in a croaky voice. "Sure son, I will get it materialized for you but it won't last long maybe a year or two, but then you have to come back and renew it." Dad said.

I nodded greatful and said thanks. Then Poseidon engulfed me into a hug which I never expected to get from him, I returned it graciously. "Come back around 4 and fetch it." He said and then he disappeared. I walked back to camp to say my goodbyes. I did not tell anyone where I was going because I did not want any visitors.

I packed my things and went straight for the river, I avoided Annabeth and her new boyfriend. I called upon my father and he came out with a necklace and placed it around my neck, "Made some adjustments, gods also won't know where you are even if they look for you at Sally's house just tell your mom to tell them you not there.

I said goodbye to my dad and headed for mom's house. It was a little lighter there. I told my mom the whole story and if she saw ever Annabeth she would make her look worse than Medusa. Mom suggested that I should go to school instead of sitting around or else I would whole time think about the brake up. And today is the first day.

I thanked mom for the breakfast and headed for school. I was happy Smelly Gabe slept at the bar last night it means I don't have to see him in the morning. Mom said she was getting rid if him, but he somehow convinced her to stay with him. Which I was not very pleased to hear.

Natasha Estrella POV

"Wake up!" My mom said in a loud voice cause this had been the fourth time she was telling me to wake up. "Wait a second mom, I'm about to do it." I said in a sleepy voice. She then poured ice cold water on me, with ice blocks. It made me jerk up, and I bounced off the bed falling to the ground

"Mom why you so evil, I was dreaming about-" I whined but stopped when I realised I was dreaming about those eyes, again. Those eyes have ruined all my dreams- since the beginning of this year all I have dreamt about is sea green eyes, I have not have any other dream. "You were dreaming about what?" Mom questioned. "Nothing!" I said really fast, running to the bathroom to avoid anymore questions. I undressed and took a shower.
