CHAPTER 59: Family

Natasha POV

I was delighted and relieved when the movie finished, no offense to the people who enjoyed it. "I'm gonna be up in my room." I said and they all nodded, I went to my room and took out a book from my cabinet and read it. I was halfway through the book when I noticed it was now nighttime. I was still a bit rattled by the scary movie we had watched so I decided to go out. I looked around for Nemean and found him talking to my parents. I stood at a distance and waited for them to finish their conversation, "Natasha..." Dad noticed me and I walked towards them, "You seem to be uneasy, what's wrong?" Mother asked.

"Nothing... I just wanted to go out, that's all." I said, "In the middle of the night?" Dad asked, "Isn't it my domain, the universe?" I asked, "You got me there. It's just a father's worry." He gave a warm smile and I returned it. "Your mother and I will leave you to it, but don't be gone for long. Would you please allow me to let my guards go with you, I'm not really comfortable with letting you go alone after what happened that day." He said and I thought for a while, "You won't even notice them." He added and I released a chuckle.

"That's impossible, but they may come." I smiled and he nodded then left with mother. I looked at Nemean and he increased his size. I climbed onto his back and sat ladylike since I was wearing a dress and Nemean dashed out the gates of the palace. "Nemean, can you smell the huge lake nearby, I wanna go there please." I said and he nodded and increased his speed. I had already caught the scent of the 10 guards father had sent along with me.

It took a while but I enjoyed the breeze, he leaped into a forest very stealthily and gently I did not notice when his paws touched the ground. Then we finally reached and I jumped of Nemean and took off the shoes I was wearing. I walked into the cold lake with the long dress and as I went deeper, it too got wet. "Would you like to join me Nemean?" I turned around to face him and he sat down on dry land, "Cats don't dig water sweetheart." He simply said and I continued going deeper.

I concentrated and my legs turned into a tail, a mermaid tail. My dress turned into a black top which was sleeveless and I had a very dark blue tail with gold embroidery. I could sense Nemean was intrigued behind me, "One of the qualities I got from Arceus." I answered the question he was about to ask. I was swimming around with the little fishes on the surface of the water and splashing around my tail when Nemean called out to me and I looked in his direction.

"Why did you really come here?" He asked all of a sudden, "I just came to cool off, that's all... Watching that movie wasn't exactly..." I trailed off and now just began floating on the surface. "What do you think of Percy?" Nemean asked, what was with the sudden questions, "I guess he's cool." I answered, "But I get the feeling there is something that he should tell me, there is something that he wants to tell me but he can't." I breathed, "Why do you say so?" Nemean asked.

"I don't know, just a feeling." I shrugged, "Do you like him?" He asked and my head jerked in Nemean's direction, "Nemean, what's with the sudden questions?!" I asked, "Just answer me, do you like like him?" He asked and I wanted to answer no but my voice couldn't come out, it got stuck in my throat. I too didn't want to say yes, "I don't know, I'm not really sure about my feelings at the moment." I answered calmly. "So there is a chance that you like him?" He asked, "I don't know." I sighed.

"So if you see him with another girl, you will feel nothing?" Nemean asked and I gave him a blank face and then I smiled, "I guess we have to wait and see." I grinned. Suddenly I caught a new scent which did not belong to the guards, it was... Percy. "She has a tail! Oh yeah, uncle Chaos had mentioned something about her being able to change form, unknowingly she is still a natural at swimming, and her tail is by far the most beautiful. She is so beautiful and I miss her so much, if only she knew." I heard him think and I found him sitting on a rock at the shore.
