CHAPTER 21: A gift

Percy POV

I woke up by being shaken by Jack, "Percy, Nattie is not here." Jack said as he rubbed his eyes awake, "How do you know, you just woke up right now and you did not even go to her room." I said as I looked at him half awake, "I have really good hearing, as in vampire hearing. I can't hear her heartbeat in this cabin!" Jack huffed barging out the door an I followed him.

"You seem to know where to go, you are not asking if anybody has seen her." I said as I jogged after him, he was walking pretty fast. "There are a lot of things you don't know about me, I was trained by the best then became the best. I was a tracker for my father, every sense of mine is multiplied a million times, but I can decided how much I want to hear. And right now I can smell her scent." Jack said really fast.

"Hey, we are almost reaching the border- what is she doing all the way here?" I asked worried. We saw her bandaging a Ceryneian Hind, Jack immediately grabbed Nattie away from the Hind with his godly speed. "What are you doing, do you know how dangerous that thing is, one wrong move and it will slice you with its golden antlers." Jack scolded Nattie and the Hind stood up looking angry, it stomped it's front legs on the ground with warning but then it stumbled and fell to the ground.

Nattie shoved away from Jack and ran towards the Hind, she fell to her knees and held the leg of the Hind. It was the one she was bandaging before jack grabbed her, she assured the animal that she was not going to hurt it with her eyes, then she continued to bandage it, she then pinned the bandage and the Hind stood up.

Jack calmed down a little bit, "This is the first time I got to see it up close, it has antlers made of gold and hooves made of bronze, it's so huge- bigger than the actual size deer. It has the antlers of a male deer but it is female. It's faster than an arrow, how did you get close to it." Jack asked and Nattie tried to speak but nothing came out.

She shrugged, then took her phone out of her pocket,

Can you touch things now?

Nattie had a concerned look, she was really worried about Jack, she asked him this question everyday in the morning. Jack went to a nearby tree and removed his glove, he touched the tree and frost began spreading around the tree and Jack removed his hand, placing it back in the glove.

Don't worry, you will be fine.

She smiled at Jack and kissed him morning, and then I on the cheek which we both returned. She turned to face the Hind and held its antlers gently, Jack placed his hand at the back of her top, so that he would pull her away if the hind retaliated in a bad way. She hit Jack's hand away and he crossed his hands like a five year old.

It won't heart me you idiot, you are scaring him with your sudden movements.

Jack showed me the text Nattie had sent with a gruff and I laughed, it was cute how they fought, Nattie guided the Hind back to the camp and when the Hind saw the many campers, it got agitated and all the campers looked... Umm, ... constipated- I know it was a weird way to describe them, but that is the was they looked.

Tell them not to panic, the hind is harmless and that they must not do anything to startle it.
