CHAPTER 28: Leaving for a secret mission

Natasha POV

"You are pissed aren't you?" I questioned, "No." Jack said bluntly, "Then why is your jawline dancing?" I asked, "Yeah you are right, I am pissed, why would you challenge Annabeth?!" Jack asked as he sat across from me, "I don't know." I answered because I was beginning to doubt my own reason for challenging her.

"Is this the reason why Percy is not here at the moment?" He asked, "N-no, Percy is upset with me, that's why he left." I answered, "I can understand where he is coming from." Jack commented, "No, it's not because of that. He found out about Annabeth putting the orange juice in my apple juice, he wanted to confront her but I, but I..." I said not able to finish the sentence because I remembered Percy's hurt face.

"What did you do?" Jack asked looking intently into my eyes, "He would not listen to me when I begged him to leave her be, so I, so I..." I continued but felt suffocated as I went closer to what I had done, "I put him under an oath." I said and it seemed to me like Jack stopped breathing, "With what oath did you bind him?" Jack asked, "I- I told him that- that if he went to confront Annabeth about this issue, in this year... Then... Then I w-won't live long." I breathed the last two words out and Jack's eyes widened.

"I felt so bad, that was the first time I saw Percy hurt because of me." I cried, "I am so sorry Jack, but I can't continue this conversation. I know it's only 17:00 but I am going to bed and will wake up tomorrow." I said then ran to my room and threw myself on my bed, I could not find sleep so I ran my bath water and I was in there for an hour crying, I always thought that it was impossible for a person to cry for an hour but I now saw how wrong was I.

I would fill the tub with warm water each time it got cold, after that I got tired and went out of the bath, lifelessly I wore my onesie and threw myself inside my blanket, I shifted several times trying to sleep but I could not. Annoyingly I walked to my drawer and looked for sleeping tablets. I found them and took them, not long after that I passed out.

The alarm on my phone went off and it was 12:45, which meant I only had 15 minutes before lady Artemis would be here so I got dress in a more archery outfit today, a black top, black skinny jeans, and black boots. I tied my hair in a high pony tail, once I was done with the dressing and stuff I hung my bow and arrow around my hand, I decided to jump off my window instead of using the door because I was not really ready to face Percy or Jack. Before I jumped, I wrote a note say that I was training with Artemis

I easily jumped out though the window and began walking to the spot where I would train with lady Artemis, I went behind the cabins as to avoid meeting any of my friends, or the campers. Not long after that I reached and not shortly after that lady Artemis arrived. She was not alone, she was a girl with black hair. "Morning lady Artemis." I greeted, "Morning Natasha, this is Thalia, Thalia this is Natasha." Lady Atermis introduced us and I just smiled at her.

She was Percy's cousin, the sister Jason Grace. "Excuse me, I am going to meet some family members of mine." She said then she jogged away, "Shall we begin?" She lady Artemis asked and I nodded, "Okay today you will stand further away from your target and it will be smaller- so try hard to concentrate okay." Lady Artemis said and I nodded, she then made targets appear around me.

I then began shooting arrows at the targets and I hit the centre of every target without missing one shot. "Wow, you must have practiced yesterday a lot." Lady Artemis applauded, "But you don't seem like your usual self- I can sense the tension radiating from you." She stated, "I am just going through some stuff, but I'll be fine- I am not one to sulk forever." I said as I hit more targets.

"Okay, you are making this look easy- how about I give you a moving target." She stated with a grin, "As long as it explodes into gold dust then I am fine with it- I still cannot bare the sight of blood." I said and she nodded, a small deer appeared and Lady Artemis signalled for me to shoot. I aimed at the deer and shot it in the stomach making it burst into gold dust. "You do know that when you face Annabeth, there is gonna be blood right?" Lady Artemis questioned as she made another deer appear.
