The day had barely been half over and I was already exhausted.
From dodging Shu to Laito's inability to shut his trap and to that 'talk' with Ayato, I was drained both physically and mentally.
So I did what any logical person would do, I skipped class and snuck home. Honestly I don't know what I was thinking but all I knew was I was now going on empty and relying on my basic survival instincts. With the reasoning of, and I quote spiderman, instincts bad, I just decided to head home.
Don't be like me kiddos, stay in school, byou don't have six vampires breathing down your neck.

Once I arrived home I texted Lucas to make sure he wouldn't get worried and I walked up to my room.
However, it seems Lady Luck wasn't on my side today as the moment I passed the second floor, Reiji had just begun descending from the third floor. "Why are you back so early?" He asked sternly, obviously irked by this.
'just had to be caught by the Pidgeon...'
"I caught a cold, the teacher sent me back." I lied, deciding it wouldn't be smart to tell him the truth.
"Don't lie to me mortal, you do not appear sick in the slightest." He frowned. "Well I am, that's just how the human body works." I said, hoping to slip past him to my room. "Now if you don't mind, I'll just be in my-"
Then he gripped my wrist, the book he was holding sent clattering to the floor. "How much do you know...?" He growled. 'Oh for the sake of RinHaru, why me?!'
"Know what?" I asked, perhaps playing a little too dumb. "Do not lie to me mortal!" His grip grew tighter and began to hurt. "Answer me!"
I considered yelling in hopes of some neighbour hearing me but I knew it would take too long so I came up with a plan.
"O-okay, I'll tell you. But first, riddle me this. Does Shu wear shoes or do shoes wear Shu?" He seemed to be confused by the strange words that left my mouth and while he was off guard I slipped free of his grasp.
"You-!" I took in a huge breath before screaming out at the top of my lungs. "EXCUSE ME, ARE YOU AARON BURR SIR?!" "what-!" "OH SURE SIR, IM ALEXANDER HAMILTON, IM AT YOUR SERVICE SIR. I HAVE BEEN-" I back away, soon reaching the banister. "LOOKING FOR YOU!" With that I planted a hand on the banister firmly and swung myself over it, falling down to the first floor.
'Not this time mosquitoes!'
Then it hit me that I was falling down two and a half floors.
With no airbag to catch me.
And definitely with no soft landing.
"Watch out!!!!" I yelled before closing my eyes to brace for the impact, my legs bent forward to hopefully soften my landing.

'*fwoosh*?' Instead of the cold wooden floor I feel myself encased in strong clothed arms.
'I don't feel dead.. which means-!' I open my eyes and find them staring at two red ones.
Leaping out of the frowning albino's arms, I dust myself off and look back at the male. "T-thanks Subaru, hope I wasn't too heavy..." I said awkwardly as the male continued to stare me down. I look back upstairs to see Reiji peering angrily over the edge and I start panicking.
"Thanks again Tsunbaru, now I gotta run, see ya!" I say as I grab my keys and dash out.
'I'll just take good ol red out for a joy ride and hopefully I can sneak back in.' I thought to myself before revving up my bike's motor.
_____
Well that was a pipe dream.
Now here I am, surrounded by all the Sakamaki brothers the moment I entered the door.
"Uh, any chance you guys were waiting for pizza?" I asked nervously before Ayato grabbed my hand and began dragging me towards the stairs behind the rest of the brothers. "...of course not..."
Not another word was uttered until we had reached Reiji's room and shut the door.
The air stung with the distinct smell of alcohol and antiseptic, like a mineature hospital had been crammed into this tiny room. Tons of chemical apparatus piled onto one table where a sinister looking potion bubbled over the heat of a blue flame.
'how'd he even unpack all that so fast?'
"Explain yourself mortal, how did you come to know of our Nature?" Reiji spoke, a sense of malice lacing his words.
I had seen this question coming and had already practice exactly what to say.
"Karlheinz had written to me a while before your arrival." I spoke calmly. It was a crapshot but a guy can hope.
"That would explain why he told us to take care of Card-kun~" Laito hummed as the rest of the brothers also seemed surprisingly convinced.
'why would he-?'
"Well I suppose that would explain it. However, as we are now sure you are aware of what we are, I will have to ask you to supply us with your blood." A chill shot down my spine. "Karlheinz never said anything like that." I replied, hoping to all heck that I could get out of this. "He never does." Those words felt like a punch to the gut. "Great..." I huffed under my breath.
'Now I actually feel bad for Yui, this was NOT the reverse harem I was hoping it'd be.'
