He remained deathly silent as we entered my room.

He shoved me into the room and shut the door behind us and I felt my body tense abt the sudden force. He seemed to notice this though and moved more slowly when he grasped my hands in his, gingerly moving them and checking my arms.

His expression was almost pained as he looked across the wrappings around my arms, no doubt done by a certain tableware otaku.

His fingers moved to my chin as he tiled my head to the side and inspected my neck. "He didn't manage to bite me," I murmur. "I put up too much of a fight...!" I chuckle softly, trying to bring up the mood.

"I want to bite you right now," he muttered bitterly and my hands balled into fists. "I want to mark you as my own so no one can take you from me..." He continued, his voice no louder than the shadow of a whisper. I feel myself go stiff in his hold.

'he wouldn't, right?'

Yet somehow this didn't feel like him simply trying to get my blood anymore.

Afterall, he let go of me.

Then took a few steps back.

"Where's that damn knife that Tsundere gave you?" He spoked louder now, his tone now more like his usual arrogant self.

"You mean Tsunbaru?" I snicker as I make my way to my school bag. I unzip the front pouch and pull out a small cloth bag, something i had decided to put the knife in to keep it as pristine as possible. I wanted to treasure this as much as Subaru did after all.

As I slid the knife from it's confines, Ayato quickly grabbed the dagger from my hold.

I turned to protest when he flipped the knife around and pulled my hand, making my fingers wrap around the hilt of the blade. He gripped my hands tightly as he directed the knife to just between his first and second rib, right above where a heart would be.

"Here," he murmured. "If any of us try to hurt you again you aim here." He sounded like his usual self, yet he didn't.

He sounded hollow, even the smile on his face felt empty.

I pulled my hands from his grip and slip the knife back into the cloth pouch.

"No." I stated simply. "What-?!"

"I said no." Turning back to the boy and pointedly placing the knife and pouch back into my bookbag.

"If you guys can be saved why should I kill you?"

I see him move to retort but I'm faster.

"When I was a kid I saw a programme on TV" I began, hoping the analogy would help convince him. "I remember this adorable kitten that had been picked up by some well meaning couple."

"They brought it to the vet the show was about. The cat only needed a minor surgery, just one and it would be perfectly healthy." I reminesce about the small creature, so full of life, so full of hope. "And yet because it was a stray they decided it wasn't worth the effort and put it down."

I turn back to the male. "Isn't that just so wasteful?" I give a solemn smile. "If all it takes is someone willing to do it,why not give it a chance?"

I grin at the boy who's expression was unreadable.

His eyes meet mine for a split second befire he looks away and vanishes before my eyes. Next thing I know I'm in my bed, encased in his arms.

"Aya-"

"Chibimushi."

'chibi...mushi...?'

"Why the hell are you calling me a small bug?!" I exclaim incredulously. "That totally broke the mood!" I whined, defiantly turning to face the other way.

"Oi," he spoke in a warning tone. I just huff and cross my arms. I feel the hood of the sweater I was wearing tug me backwards, causing me to fall into an even tighter hug with the haughty boy. "Damn hood..."

I trail off, only just realising the hoodie wasn't mine.

"This isnt my..." I begin, recalling the white gudetama T-shirt I had been wearing earlier.

"Its Ore-sama's" he said in a very proud tone, as though ut was something to boast about. "Your shirt stank of dried blood so we threw it out." He said very matter-of-factly.

I groan. "I really liked that shirt..."

'but then again, a blood covered Gudetama didn'f exactly sound like something I wanted to see
...'

"Eggs in purgatory...?" I muttered, relating the similar colour schemes but instantly feel disgusted with myself, shuddering rather harshly. I could practically feel Ayato's judgemental look on the back if my head.

Before he could question me though, the door was knocked upon twice before it swung open, revealing the pidgeon in a suit, otherwise known as Reiji Sakamaki.

"Ayato, I am sure what ever business you have with Ace can wait till AFTER I have finished my inspection of him." His voice was as harsh as ever.

Ayato clicked his tongue and yet again I found myself in a new spot with the auburn haired vampire by my side. This time I was standing before the Sebastian wannabe himself as he sighed softly in disapproval. "Follow me."

With that Reiji swiftly spun on his heels and paced down the hall towards the stairs.

I whispered to the sulky boy beside me, hopefully out of earshot of the stuffy boy in front of me. "Looks like you got told off by mom~" a smug grin plastered itself into my face as Ayato clicked his tongue yet again.

"Whatever, Chibimushi." He smirked back snarkily amd I rolled my eyes.

"Why are you even calling me that?" I huff and speed up, the distance between us preventing me from hearing his answer that was whispered to himself.

"Because its cute..."
