After getting back to my room, I couldn't sleep. I tossed and turned and before I knew it, daylight was breaking.
Thanking the hawt lord that it was a Saturday, I decided to get up and pour myself some coffee. As a tea lover, I never really liked coffee but I knew my lack of sleep would catch up with me soon and the last thing I needed was for six vampires to be attacking me while I was asleep.
Soon enough I had both hands clasped around the warm beverage, sipping slowly as I glanced at the clock. 6:30am.
With the caffeine in my system I began to feel restless and soon decided to go out to the mall a little while away. I went back to my room and got changed into a sweater and jeans, tousled my hair a bit and grabbed my wallet before heading downstairs.
Before I could leave however, a familiar voice stopped me in my tracks. "Where do you think you are going, human?" I flinched and turned around to face the purple haired boy.
"I was just going to the nearby shopping center to walk around."
He said nothing, just paused for a bit before he spoke again. "Bring me with you." My eyes widened. "A-are you sure? I don't think you'd like it there." With how many I'd seen people squeeze into that one shopping mall I couldn't even imagine what would happen if the irrate vampire were to go. What if someone got on his nerves or tried to touch him or worse, Teddy?
"So you don't want me to go?" He asked in a deathly whisper. I shook my head frantically. "No, no, I'd love for you to come but the mall is really crowded today and we might get sperated and the only vehicle we have right now is my bike so I can't exactly bring you along." I reasoned. Still he stepped forward stubbornly.
"Its fine, I'm not a child, I won't get lost. I can just ride behind you." He then walked out, stopping beside my parked motorcycle.
I sighed internally but followed after him. I took a spare helmet from the boot before putting mine on. I handed him the black helmet asking him to put it on. "There's no need, I'm not going to fall." I frowned. "It doesn't matter, just put it on, for me, please?" He seemed to glance down at the helmet but soon released one hand from Teddy to grab the helmet and put it on. I helped him to fasten the helmet and got on my bike.
He sat behind me and put one of his hands on my shoulder, the other grasping Teddy tightly. "Hold on." I reved the engine and we sped off.
The wind felt great as it blew through my hoodie but I decided to ride slower than usual, just incase I would somehow make the bipolar vampire behind me motion sick which would make me dead, more so than Adam. (Voltron.I'm sorry :') )
"I put on the helmet for you, now you owe me." He whispered and I didn't dare reply.
Soon enough we had reached. I parked the bike and took off my helmet, helping Kanato with his. After securing everything, we walked into the mall. We walked around, passing shop after shop. Thankfully, there seemed to be less people here than usual which helped the situation a bit. Kanato said nothing and just followed behind me. That was until we passed a candy store.
He stopped right before the shop, staring in and I took the hint. "Do you want to go inside, Kanato? I owe you something after all." I gave a smile as the male nodded slowly and walked briskly into the store.
It felt strange to see the male look so happy instead of his usual creepy self.
Strangely, the happiness I saw wasn't a smile or even laughter, it was the way his eyes lit up everytime he caught sight of a new shiny wrapper or when he tried that free cookie sample. The way he seemed at ease and less likely to scream at anything that put him off.
It was, strangely, cute.
Despite his lolita-esque fashion style and baby face, I had never really found Kanato cute. Whether it be in the anime or the videos of his route in the games, I never really found him cute. I thought of him as that one creepy kid with a mental disorder. Pretty harsh but he just wasn't for me and yet here he was, warming my heart with his sparkling eyes and calm demeanor.
After about 10 minutes of wandering the store, he seemed to stop before a bucket of lollipops.
He grabbed three of them before turning to me. I looked at the sweets which were wrapped in a plastic bag with a striped ribbon, a black stuffed bunny logo stamped on the front and a small font beneath that I could just barely make out. 'Funtom? Haven't heard of it. The packaging sure fits his aesthetic though.' I smiled to myself and gave the boy a small nod.
He placed the candies on the counter and I paid, and soon enough we were back to walking around, me carrying a plastic bag with two lollipops while the third was slowly dissolving in his mouth.
Then I had a weird urge to dress up the doll-like boy.
I mean if you had a pretty lolita shota boy with flawless skin and hair before you, how could you not want to dress him up?
"Hey Kanato, how would you like to play dress up?" I gave him a smile.
