character x reader one shot book

Zen x reader (Mystic Messenger)

Before I actually begin writing, I did not come up with this one shot. My best friend, @Anime_Panda1923 texted me and explained this one shot, but said she didn't want to write it. So, I am bringing this one shot to life for her (also I have major writers block so this is a big help so thanks child lol) although I added a bit more detail, it is primarily her story. Anyways on with the story!

Y/n POV

My name is Y/n L/n and I am an aspiring actor. I have been in a few musicals, movies, tv shows etc. I'm am not incredibly famous, I mean I'm only 23 and have only been in the acting field for a few years, however, people know me. I've recently gotten the lead female role in Phantom of the opera and watched the auditions for the male lead role. They were all talented, but one really stood out.
Ryu Hyun, also know as Zen. He sticks out in every musical he's in. He's also a fan favorite. His audition was very interesting and had lots of emotion, however, he didn't get the part. I however, was very impressed. Yesterday, I received word that I got the female lead in Beauty and the beast and they are holding auditions for then male lead today. The directors again invited me to be a judge as well, to see who I like. I walk into the theater, unsure of what to expect, but ready to be able to pick a male role.

After 2 hours of auditions....

All of these people suck. They all are the same. Theres no difference, no uniqueness, nothing.

"I'm starting to think we won't find a male role" one of the directors says

"R/P/N was pretty good" another says

"There was nothing special in his audition though" I reply

"There's no one else Y/N. He's our best shot" The first director says

There has to be a way though. There has to be someone else. Someone unique, someone emotional, someone...perfect. I scan for possible candidates in my head, but nothing appears. A lot of my co stars are doing their own thing at the moment and others, well, let's just say we don't get along. Then...I get an idea. The perfect candidate. Zen. of course how could I forget. I look at the line of people we still have left. About 10, which we will have to do tomorrow

"What about Zen?" I ask

"Ryu Hyun?" One says

"Ah yes the talented actor!" Another perks

"He could audition" the first says

"May I have his contact information?" I ask politely

I am given his phone number and address. ***-***-**** and I dial it. As the phone is ringing, I start thinking of what to say.

"Hello?"

"Hi is this Ryu Hyun?"

"Yes it is"

"Hello Mr Hyun. I am with the directors of Beauty and the beast and we were wondering if you would like to audition for the lead male role."

"When is the audition?"

"The last day is tomorrow. If you are able to learn the audition script within a day, I can email you the script to learn"

"*sigh* Normally, I wouldn't do this but seeing as you asked me directly, I cannot say no to a director who wants me that badly."

"*sigh* ok thank you Mr Hyun"

I hang up. I forgot how narcissistic he can be. I mentally slap myself. Then I remember I have to meet a friend of mine tomorrow so I can't watch the audition. Oh well.
