----------------------------------------------------------

This is a tale that we humans have passed down through uncounted generations. It tells of a war unmatched scale and ferocity, the likes of which would never be seen again. One dark, fateful day, the Earth cracked wide and malevolent forces rushed fourth from the fissure. They mounted a brutal assault upon the surface people, driving the land into deep despair. They burt forests to ash, choked the land's sweet springs, and murdered without hesitation. They did all this in their lust to take the ultimate power, protected by her grace, the goddess. The power she guarded, was without equal. Handed down by the gods of old, this power gave its holder the means to make any desire a reality. Such was the might of the ultimate power that the old ones placed it in the care of the goddess. To prevent this great power from falling into the hands of the evil swarming the lands, the goddess gathered the surviving humans on an outcropping of Earth. She sent it Skyward, beyond the reach of the demonic hordes, beyond even the clouds. With the humans safe, the goddess joined forces with the land dwellers, and fought the evil forces, sealing them away. At last, peace was restored to the surface.

This is a tale that we humans have told for many ages, generation to generation. The are other legends, long hidden away from memory, that are intertwined with this tale. Now, a new legend bound to this great story stands, ready to be revealed.

A legend that will be forged by our own hand.

Y/N POV

"Y/n! Wake up! Today is the day of the wing ceremony!" My older sister of 2 years, Zelda screams in my ear, causing me to jump out of bed, ready to fight.

"Zelda...It's 5 in the morning why are you waking me up this early and why do I even have to be there? I graduated to the next class last year" I glare at her.

"beCAUSE dear sister, Link is flying in today's race! The only reason he didn't graduate last year was because you beat him" She crosses her arms

I giggle, remembering the moment I had graduated. Link had a slight look of jealousy, but nonetheless, he was happy for me.

"Now come on! Get dressed and meet me at the goddess statue at 6:30." She pushes me towards my wardrobe and runs out the door. I let out a sigh and get out my uniform. As I'm getting dressed, I reminisce about the time Zelda, Myself, and Link first met.

Flashback

Zelda is 8 years old, I am 6. Despite my age, I am pretty mature, smart, and strong, way different from my sister. She is the soft type, always wanting to avoid violence at any cost, while I, myself, wouldn't mind resorting to violence, and have trained to become a knight since a young age.

I hold a sword in my hand, training in front of the sparring hall, in the rain. Zelda watches from under the hood of the sparring hall as I slash away at the air in front of me. Of course, I wasn't using a REAL sword since 1, I hadn't started knight academy yet, 2, we can't take swords outside the sparring hall unless we graduate, and 3, father would never let me. Instead, I hold a plain wooden sword. A young boy comes out from the sparing hall, looking about Zelda's age and his eyes meet hers. Giving no interest, I continue to practice with my sword, letting out small high pitched grunts.

"You're pretty good with a sword, young one." He pats my head, putting his coat on me."But you'll catch a cold out here in the rain, you should go inside."
