"Y/n wait!!!!"

I didn't bother turning back. I didn't want to see him. He made his feelings very clear to me. Now it time for me to face the facts and move on.

2 minutes earlier

Viktor and I have been friends since we both started skating. Every time one of us landed a new jump it perfected a new trick, we would treat the other to eat. We never had anything serious up until last week. He kissed me. I don't remember much from it but I know we went out because I landed my last quad, a quad lutz so he took me to get f/f.

I was running to tell Viktor that I qualified for the Grand Prix. I was sure he would be proud of how hard I worked to get this spot. I found him at the rink getting interviewed.

"No. I'm not really looking for a relationship right now. I don't have my eye on anyone" Viktor responded.

Those words hit me like a truck. He looked over and saw my wide-eyed. I ran out of the rink at full speed.

That brings us to where we are now

I ran to my best friend's houses. Although she skates with both Viktor and I, he doesn't know where she lives, so it was perfect.
B/f/n is a pair skater. She skates with another one of my friends at the rink, Sirius. They've been skating together for 5 years now.
Once I went into the town, I lost him. I ended up sitting in a restaurant waiting for the Uber I called to come get me. A couple of fans wanted pictures with me, so I gladly took some. Eventually, the Uber came and I gave the driver b/f/n's address. She opened the door with open arms. I had texted her on the way here what happened. A couple of tears fell from my eyes, but I didn't want to cry. It wasn't worth it.

"What should I do?" I looked down.

"Maybe you should take that offer" she whispered.

My mind traced back to the offer Yakov gave me the other day. He said there was a really good coach in America that he was good friends with that is willing to work with me. I would work Yakov still for my program but the other coach would work with my jumps and spins.

"But I don't want to leave you" I sighed

"It's not like we'll never see each other again. The Grand Prix is starting in 2 months. We'll see each other at competitions" she smiled

"Okay. I'll take the offer"

I quickly got my phone from my bag and called Yakov.

"Hello Y/n. Was there something you needed?"

I inhaled deeply. "I'll take the offer"

I can hear him give a soft chuckle. "I'm glad. He's an excellent coach. You'll do well working with him"

"Thank you Yakov. For everything you've done for me." I smiled

"If you ever decide to come back there's a spot always open for you."

"Thank you Yakov. Also one more thing" I took a breath. "Don't tell Viktor about this"

Yakov's side was quiet for a bit. "I'm sure you have your reasons for not telling him. So I will not"

"Thank you Yakov" I hung up the phone

The next day

My flight is at 2 and it's 11 right now. I went to the rink to get one last memory of it. I saw Yuri on the ice working with Yakov. He was working on his quad flip. He landed gracefully with a strong check out. Yakov noticed me and sent Yuri on a break. Yuri looked back at me and gave one of his rare smiles.
