How I love summer

School is finally out, the stress of piling assignments is finally over, and at last, I get to relax. Despite the heat, summer is my favorite season. I get to sleep in, go out with my friends, and have fun in the sun.

But my favorite part of summer is swimming with my boyfriend Haruka.

I met him at the start of middle school, people were making fun of his feminine name, but I always found it beautiful. I approached him after class ended my first day. I had just moved back to Japan after living in America until I turned 14.  I greeted him with a warm smile and he replied with a glance in my direction. Some girls had said that he wasn't very social and that I shouldn't try being friends with him, then laughed. Who's laughing now?

I chuckle at the memory. Haru and I are planning to hang out tomorrow and I have a whole day planned for us. We'll start the day by going to have a nice brunch. Then, we'll walk around the park for a bit. After our food has digested, we'll go to the beach to go swimming. Knowing Haru, we'll be there for a while. After time passes, we'll stop by my friend's flower shop and I'll pick up picnic basket that I will have packed and have a picnic in the park.

I smile brightly, watching my my younger sister play with the dog. My sister seems to like Haru, it almost seems like she like him more than me. She throws the chew toy and me, which I catch with ease. The white dog runs towards me as I wave the toy around. He latches onto it and starts trying to pull it while growling. I laugh and release the toy, patting the furry animal.

*ring ring*

I pick up the phone to see an incoming call from Haru.

"Hello?"

"Please get off-No! Don't touch that! Huh Y/n?"

"Haru? Is something wrong"

"No! Um yes my aunt said she needed me to babysit her kids but didn't mention there was 3 of them! I need help.." he sounds exhausted

"I'll be right over"

I hang up the phone and my sister looks at me. "What's up?"

"Haru needs help babysitting. I don't know what time I'll be back so you and mom should have dinner without me"

My sister nods.

I walk upstairs to my mom's study, knocking on the door. She hums slightly and I open the door.

"Haru needs help babysitting so I'm going to be out for a while. I'm not sure exactly when I'll be back, so you and Kaori should have dinner without me"

"Okay. If it gets too late you should stay there. I don't want you walking home late"

"Okay"

I walk into my room and put on a pair of white shorts with a baby blue crop top. I tie my hair into a half up half down hair do, also putting on a little bit of makeup. I walk downstairs, slipping on my white vanz before walking out the door to Haru's house. When I get there I knock on the door to which Haru slams open, panting like a dog.

"Haru? What-"

"Y/n thank god you're here. Are you good with kids?"

I smile. I've always loved kids, in fact I used to look after my cousins while their parents were at work.

"I like to think I am"

He lets out an exhausted sigh while letting me in. My eyes widen when I see the mess of his once clean and organized house. A loud wailing erupts from upstairs and my eyes meet those that belong to a young boy and a young girl.
