I'll never forget that day
That fateful Tuesday afternoon
He made me look like a fool
Before my last year in middle school, I had never opened my heart to anyone. Being an only child of the CEO of a successful business owner, I've always had one goal and one goal alone: to surpass my father's expectations and become a worthy heir to the company. Ever since I was a first-year at the elementary school, I've excelled in every single thing I ever did. From maths to athletics I was the top at everything.
Middle school, 3rd year
It's the only year I ever had a crush on someone. Kaoru Hitachiin. He was nicer than his twin brother Hikaru. That's the only way I could tell them apart. Everyone and their mom had a crush on one of the twins at some point, but all of them were turned down. One day I caught him looking at me in class. I decided the next day I would tell him how I felt. I got to school early and left a letter on his desk. At lunch, I went to the place I told him to meet me and waited. My heart raced as I wondered what would happen. Would he like me back? How would he respond?
"Oh look Hikaru there she is" I turned to the voices and saw Kaoru with Hikaru
"Wow. Did she think you would like her? I mean look at her. She's so basic." Hikaru laughed
I had a confused look on my face as I watched them laugh. Kaoru suddenly stops laughing and looks me in the eye with a sly grin. "If I were you, I'd stop wearing those stupid glasses and maybe change your hair. It doesn't look that great"
(Pretty much how you looked. Change the hair and eye color to match you though)
My eyes widened at his comment. Hikaru burst into laughter. I stood there, taking every single criticism they gave me. Kaoru ripped up my letter and said "Who could ever like a girl like you"
I felt tears stream down my face as I ran to the nearest empty bathroom. I sit on the toilet and cry. I kept hearing his comments and continued to stay there, even when the bell rang. I already had my bag so I decided to call my father, saying I didn't feel well and he sent a driver to pick me up. I returned to school the next day the same as I was yesterday, not making eye contact with anyone. Just me and my studies
Just like it's always been
No one deserves my time or my heart
Because guys will just take advantage
The end of the year rolled around and I placed first in exams once again. On the last day of school, I walked out with my head high, ready for the start of the next term. I came to a realization later in the summer that for me to get respect from my peers and future employees, I have to look the part. Father got me contacts and I decided to wear my in a nicer do than before.
