The rest of the car ride was full of awkward conversations and uncomfortable silences. Both Dean and Maia were flooded with relief when they got to Bobby's house.

"Your friend lives in a junkyard?" Maia climbed out of the Impala.

"Don't worry, he's not a serial killer." Dean joked, walking towards the house.

"Yeah cause that's convincing."

"Relax, he's a good friend, practically raised me and Sam."

Maia tilted her head, confused. "Were you an orphan or something?"

"No, our dad just dropped us off here when we were young while he went hunting."  knocked on the door.

"That makes a lot more sense." Maia stuffed her hands into her leather jacket pockets.

"What?" Dean was taken aback by the demigod's comment.

"What?" Maia repeated, faking stupidity.

Before Dean could ask her what she meant, the door opened revealing the one and only Bobby Singer.

"What now?" the Singer questioned, obviously grumpy.

"Nice to see you too, Bobby," Dean chuckled then gestured towards Maia. "This is my daughter Maia. Maia, this is Bobby."

The Singer stared at the demigod, wide-eyed. When Melissa had called Dean all those years ago telling him she was pregnant, Bobby was the one he went to for help.

"Hi," Maia stuck out her hand for the Singer to shake.

"Hi," Bobby repeated, shaking the blonde's hand. "Well don't you two just stand there come on in."

The Singer backed up his wheelchair, turning around and leading the two to his study.

"So what brings you here?" Bobby asked. Something bad must've happened for Dean to bring Maia to the Singer's house.

"Would it be cool with you if Maia stayed here for a while?" Dean questioned.

"Of course. There's a room upstairs you can stay in. First door on the left." Bobby turned to Maia.

The demigod nodded, taking her duffel and messenger bag up to the room that would now be hers.

"What the hell, Dean?" Bobby snapped at the Winchester as soon as he heard Maia's footsteps fade.

"What?" Dean asked innocently.

"The whole reason you left her and Melissa was to keep them out of harm's way. Why did you bring her here?" The singer whisper-yelled.

"They were both in River Pass working the case and... and Mel didn't make it."

Bobby paused not sure what to say.

"How's she taking it?" He finally asked.

"I don't know. She's been pretty quiet. I just want to give her some time to adjust and have some normalcy."

"So you're just gonna go hunting and leave her here?"

"For the time being, yeah."

"Dean-"

"What Bobby? What is so wrong about wanting to keep her out of hunting?"

"Are you even sure that's what she wants?"

"She's twelve."

"So? It's not like you started hunting any later than that."

"Look, there's a case a few states over. I'm gonna go check it out. Can you please look after Maia?"
