By the time Sam, Dean, and Maia made it to John and Mary's house, the day turned to night. Sam and Dean got out, Sam had already made it halfway across the street by the time Dean had helped Maia get out the backseat since there were only two doors.
"Sam. Sam. Wait, wait, wait, wait." Dean jogged to catch up.
"Dean, Anna could be here any second," Sam argued.
What exactly are we gonna march up there and tell 'em?" Dean questioned.
"Uh, the truth?" Maia asked more than stated.
"What that their sons and granddaughter are back from the future to save them from an angel gone 'Terminator'? Come on. Those movies haven't even come out yet." Dean reasoned.
"Well then tell her demons are after 'em. I mean, she thinks you're a hunter, right?" Sam questioned.
"What?" Maia looked at Dean quizzically.
"Long story. Just follow my lead." Dean told Sam and Maia before walking up to the front door. Dean rang the doorbell and the trio waited a couple of minutes before a beautiful young blonde woman opened the door. Her eyes instantly fell on Dean
"Hi, Mary." Dean greeted.
"You can't be here," Mary whispered,
"I'm sorry if this is a bad time." Dean tried to explain.
"You don't understand. I'm not..." Mary glanced at Sam who was starring. "I don't do that anymore. I have a normal life now. You have to go."
"I'm sorry, but this is important, okay?" Dean tried reasoning with his mother. Suddenly John came to the door behind Mary.
"Sorry, sweetie, they're just..." Mary trailed off.
"Mary's cousins. Yeah, we couldn't stop through town without swinging by and saying 'hey', now, could we? Dean." Dean lied, introducing himself.
"You look familiar." John shook Dean's hand.
"Really? Yeah, you do, too, actually, you know? We must have met some time. Small towns, right? got to love 'em." Dean ranted.
"I'm John." John stuck his hand out to Maia next.
"Maia." She smiled, shaking his hand.
"Nice to meet you all." John moved on to Sam who just stared for a second. Finally, Sam took John's outstretched hand.
"This is Sam," Dean spoke when Sam stayed silent.
"Sam. Uh, Mary's father was a Sam." John smiled.
"Uh, it's a-- It's a family name." Dean lied again.
"You okay, pal? You seem a little spooked." John asked when Sam didn't let go of his hand.
"Oh. Oh, yeah. Just a... long trip." Sam finally took his hand back.
"Yeah." Dean and Maia agreed.
"Well, Sam, Dean, and Maia were just on their way out," Mary told John.
"What? They just got here. Reall happy to meet folks from Mary's side. Please come on in for a beer... and water." John offered, gesturing to Maia when he said water.
"Twist my arm." Dean joked.
Inside, the living room was filled with awkward tension, mainly because Sam wouldn't stop staring at Mary.
"You sure you're okay, Sam?" John questioned.
"W-- oh. Yeah, yeah. Um, I'm just, um... You are so beautiful." Sam complimented Mary.
