When Sam made it to Dean's motel room, he found his brother packing a box and drinking a bottle of alcohol.
"Sending someone a candygram?" Sam questioned.
Dean removed the glass from his lips, turning to face his brother. "How'd you find me?"
"I didn't. Maia did." Sam answered. "It's crazy how motivated someone gets when their dad is gone... especially on their birthday."
Dean lowered his head, instantly feeling shame. "I'm sorry."
Sam shook his head. "I'm not the one you should be apologizing to. I mean, what the hell? This is how it ends? You just... walk out?"
"Yeah, I guess." Dean downed his whiskey, refilling the glass.
"How could you do that?" Sam questioned.
"How could I?" Dean scoffed. "All you've ever done is run away!"
"And I was wrong every single time I did." Sam paused, looking for a reaction from Dean and continued when he got none. "Just... please... not now. Bobby is working on something. It's your daughter's birthday for god sakes."
"I know that Sam!" Dean shouted. He was pissed at his brother for using his daughter against him. "I'm doing this for her. If I say yes, then I can make sure that you, Maia, Bobby-- everyone that I care about-- is safe. And you can try and stop me. But just remember, you're not all hopped up on demon blood this time."
"Yeah, I know." Sam sighed, hating that his brother mentioned his addiction- his weakness. "But I brought help."
Wings flapped behind Dean, causing him to turn around. He saw Cas for only a split second before the angel touched his forehead, teleporting him to Bobby's house.

Maia stood far out in Bobby's scrapyard. She pulled an arrow out of the quiver she had strapped to her back, nocking on her new bow. The birthday package she had received from her grandparents turned out to be spelled so that it was bigger on the inside than it appeared. In it were several types of weapons, hence the bow and arrow.
Maia took in a deep breath as she aimed her arrow at her target (an empty beer bottle resting on the top of a broken-down car). She wasn't much of an archery person but her grandparents would give her such an out-dated weapon if it wasn't useful.
Air puffed out of Maia's cheeks as she released the arrow, successfully shattering the glass. But, surprisingly, the arrow exploded as it came into contact with the beer bottle. Debris flew everywhere. One piece in particular was flying towards Maia's face.
The blonde's eyes widened in panic. Through sheer instinct, Maia shielded her face with her arm, ducking slightly. But the shard of glass pierced her arm.
"Damn it." Maia hissed in pain. She slung her bow over her shoulder, gripping her arm tightly as she headed back to Bobby's house. As she opened the door, however, a familiar voice stopped her in her tracks.
"Yeah, no, this is good, really. Eight months of turned pages and screwed pages and screwed pooches, but tonight--tonight's when the magic happens." Dean sassed.
"You ain't helping." Bobby retorted in a defeated voice.
"Yeah, well, why don't you let me get out of your hair, then?" Dean asked with a challenging tone.
"What the hell happened to you?" Bobby questioned. He was sick and tired of Dean's suicidal-like commentary.
"Reality happened." Dean started walking forward. "Nuclear's the only option we have left. Michael can ice the devil, save a boatload of people."
