Sam stared at the pink and bloodied valentine's day card that hung on the fridge in the deceased's apartment. "So... you were the one who found the bodies?" He asked the roommate.

"There was blood everywhere... and... other stuff." The roommate cringed. She was in the middle of packing the dead girl's things. "I think Alice was already dead."

"But Russell wasn't?" Sam questioned.

"I think he, was, mostly, except... he was still sort of... chewing a little." The roommate gagged.

"Oh." Sam cringed. "Uh-huh."

"How could two people even do that-- eat each other to death?" The roommate asked.

"That's a really good question. Now, the last few days, did you notice her acting erratically?" Sam turned from the blood-stained kitchen to face the roommate.

"How do you mean?" She asked.

"I mean, did she seem... unusually hostile, aggressive?" Sam clarified.

The roommate chuckled at the idea of Alice being aggressive. "No way. Alice never drank, never even swore. She was a nice girl. And I'm talking like a nice girl-- like she still had her promise ring, if you know what I mean."

"She was a virgin?" Sam asked, a little shocked.

"No premarital. I used to wonder how she did it. I mean, you know, didn't do it." The roommate smiled at a stuffed bunny and picked it up, "It was her first date in months. She was so excited."

"Apparently, they were both pretty excited," Sam remarked.

Sam entered the motel room to Dean sitting at the table reading with his feet up and Maia sitting on one of the beds with her earbuds in catching up on her online school work.

"How'd it go?" Dean asked.

"Um... no EMF, no sulfur. Ghost possession and demonic possession are both probably out." Sam informed.

"Hmm. That's where I was puttin' my money." Dean shrugged.

"Nope." Sam shook his head.

"Well, then what, then?" Dean rubbed his eyes. "Oh, dude! At the coroner's you didn't see these bodies. I mean, these two started eating a-and they just... kept going. I mean, their stomachs were full. Like-- like... Thanksgiving-dinner full. Talk about co-dependent."

"How'd Maia react?" Sam asked, noticing that his niece was doing schoolwork for the first time in months.

"Oh, yeah, she threw up. I'm pretty sure she's scarred for life now." Dean told his brother.

"Is that why she's doing her work?" Sam sat down across from Dean.

"Yep. And, she said that if there are any more bodies to just leave her here." Dean recounted, making Sam chuckle.

"Well, we got our feelers out. Not much more we can do tonight. All right, I'm just gonna go through some files. You can go ahead and get going." Sam turned the laptop on the table around so that it was facing him.

"Sorry?" Dean sat up.

"Go ahead. Unleash the Kraken. See you tomorrow morning." Sam went to work searching for files on the computer.

Dean looked around awkwardly. "Where am I going?"

"Dean, it's valentine's day. Your favorite holiday, remember? I mean, what do you always call it-- uh, unattached drifter Christmas?"
