Maia smiled, laughed even, as the wind rushed against her face. She was galloping past everyone else on her horse and it felt good. Maia almost forgot how much she missed racing her cousins.
She passed the finish line, jumping off of Cow but when Maia looked up, she wasn't on the track anymore. Now, she was inside, dressed in pajamas and standing next to a bunk bed.
"How the hell?" Maia took in her surroundings. The room felt so familiar but she couldn't quite place it.
"Okay, I got the popcorn, candy, soda, and permission from my parents to sucker punch my brothers if they bother us." Avery, Maia's friend, entered to room. "Where's Izzy?"
"Bathroom, I think," Maia answered. She remembered now. This was Avery's room and this was the night that Maia, Avery, and Isobel, Maia's second friend, had their last end-of-summer sleepover.
"Well, I guess we're just gonna have to start the movie without her then." Avery shrugged.
"Don't you dare." Isobel gave Avery a stern look as she reentered the room.
Maia laughed at her two best friends. She missed them so much.

Sam and Dean stood in a tiny trailer home, taking in their surroundings like they've never seen the place before.
"Where are we?" Dean asked Sam.
"No way." Sam smiled, finally recognizing the place.
A golden retriever came running at Sam from the bedroom. "Bones! Hey, come here! Come here!" Sam called.
"Bones?" Dean questioned, clearly confused.
"Yeah. Bones was my dog." Sam informed as he pet the golden retriever.
"Your-- your dog?" Dean asked in disbelief.
Sam sat down on the couch. "Yeah." He grabbed an old pizza box, feeding Bones some crust.
Dean looked around, realizing something. "Is this Flagstaff?"
"Yeah. Hey, boy!" Sam went back to giving Bones lots of affection.
"This is a good memory for you?"
"Yeah! I mean, I was on my own for two weeks. I lived off of funions and Mr. Pibb."
"Wow." Dean scoffed.
"What?" Sam furrowed his eyebrows.
"You don't remember, do you? You ran away on my watch. I looked everywhere for you. I thought you were dead. And when Dad came home..."
Sam gave Dean an ashamed look. "Dean, look--I'm sorry. I-I never thought about it like that."
"Forget it. Let's roll." Dean stormed out the door, which had a road sign on it.
On the other side, Dean had walked into an apartment that looked strangely familiar to him. Sam came in right afterward.
"What is this place?" Sam asked.
Dean looked around, his eyes landing on a picture frame on the wall. The picture was of Melissa and Maia. Dean had taken it shortly after Maia was born. "I think I know."
"Look who's back." Melissa stood just down the hall, holding a ten-month-old Maia. She walked up to Dean, giving him a kiss. "We missed you."
"Daddy." Maia piped up, a big grin and her face.
Melissa gawked at her daughter. "Oh, my gods. You heard that right?"
Dean stared at Melissa and Maia and tears in his eyes. "Yeah, I heard it."
