Minutes later, of talking and listening to the radio, Jack and I arrived at his house. It wasn't too big but it also wasn't small, it was perfect size.
"Jack?" I furrowed my eyebrows, "Are we at your house?"
He chuckled, taking his key out the ignition, "Yeah, but don't judge it just yet I have something planned. Maybe not your exact definition as romantic but it should be fun."
I lifted my chin, my eyebrows still furrowed, "Okay?" I dragged out, a little curious as to what he had planned.
We both hopped out the car, closing the doors behind us and Jack locked the car. He looked over at me, as I was examining the house. Jack lead me inside his house and to his kitchen.
"Do you want anything to drink?" He asked, opening his refrigerator. I declined his offer and took a seat in the chair by the island, looking around his house. It was very beautiful and nicely decorated.
"So what is this 'plan' you have for me...or us?" I asked, using air quotes as I leaned on the counter.
Jack smiled and jerked his head towards the back sliding door, walking backwards waiting for me to follow him. I hopped down from the chair and followed behind him, walking out the door and into his backyard. It was a big yard with a little basketball court in the middle of it.
"This is it?" I asked, pointing to the basketball hoop, "You wanna play me in basketball?"
Jack picked up the basketball and shrugged, "Yeah,"
I laughed, running my hands through my hair, "I left my little sister for this?" I asked.
"Hey, don't be so harsh I didn't really expect you to come out on this date with me a-"
I held up my finger, "Wait a minute," I stopped him, "date?"
Jack looked a little confused, "Yeah, isn't this what this is?" He asked slowly.
"I wouldn't say date, it's just two friends hanging out."
Jack licked his lips and nodded, "Okay well I didn't expect you to come hang out with me but I did hear you like basketball so." He trailed off, pointing at the hoop.
I exhaled slowly, "Well.." I paused, walking over to him, "I mean since we're here we might as well play." I smiled softly, grabbing the ball out his hand.
I stepped back, dribbling the ball and watching as he smiled at my sudden change in attitude. I dribbled the ball a little bit before shooting it, making it into the basket. I smiled confidently as I backed away, playfully dusting my shoulder off.
"Let's make this interesting?" Jack said, a smirk upon his lips as he picked up the bouncing basketball.
I put my hands on my hips and sighed, "Oh god," I muttered.
Jack must have heard me because he chuckled, "Nothing bad, nothing bad." He reassured me.
I bit my lip and thought about it for a second before accepting his challenge. He smiled a little, "If you win, I have to do whatever it is you want me to do," He began to explain.
"Keep talking" I said, getting more interested.
"And if I win," He walked closer to me, "You have to let me take you out on a date."
I lifted my head to look up at him since he was a little taller than me, especially when he towered over me like he was. I tilted my head to the side, "Deal. What's the playing point?" I questioned, grabbing the ball from his hands once again.
"First one to 26?" He asked.
I dribbled the ball underneath my legs, "You're on, Gilinsky."
