Chapter XXXV

"God you're always doing this!" Jack exclaims, throwing his hands in the air.

"What? What am I doing Jack? Go on, just let it all out!" I screamed at him

He walks around the room, "You're just always so damn jealous, you know that?"

"Well I'm sorry if I don't want to see another girl all over you Jack!" I exclaim.

"No, no see that's your problem" He says, turning and facing me, "You don't think I can be around another female! You don't think I wouldn't cheat on you."

"No, honestly I don't!" I admit, "You have a reputation, Jack! You've done something with half the girls I've met around here! Nobody thinks you can keep a long relationship without cheating! And maybe they're right, you always just let some girl all over you without doing anything, while in front of me!"

"See, you have absolutely no faith in me!" Jack yells, "Leigh would never get this jealous and controlling!"

I stopped talking immediately, my stomach dropping and a horrible pain in my heart appeared. Jack realises what he has said causing his face to soften, he knew he fucked up. Big time.

"Skylar," He lowers his voice, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to-"

"See?" I said, starting to cry, "I was right, you're not over her."

"No, baby-" He grabbed my arm but I pulled it away.

"Don't call me baby." I hissed, "I'm so stupid." I turned and began to walk away, "You're still in love with her, you never stopped loving her!"

"No, no, no" He rushes towards me, pulling at my arms to move my hands away from my face. He holds my wrists as he tries to look me in my averting eyes, "Skylar, I'm sorry."

"Let go of me" I said calmly.

"Sky, she means nothing to me anymore." He said, shaking his head.

"Jack, I said let go!" I said again, raising my voice slightly while trying to yank out of his grip.

"No listen to me!" He said, squeezing my wrists tighter, "Skylar, I love you"

"But you love her more!" I exclaimed.

"I don't!" He tried to reassure me, "I swear Skylar, she's in the past"

"You're lying!" I said, "I'm always going to be the rebound, I'm always going to be the one who you use to get your mind off her-"

"Skylar!" He exclaimed, "I'm sorry I hung out with her without telling you and for comparing you guys, okay? I'm completely over her. The only person I care about is you. You are all that matters to me. I would never use you, Sky."

I avoided eye contact but he let one wrist go, tucking his hand under my chin, "Skylar, I love you."

I looked at him for a moment, then took a deep breathe to calm myself down. "Fine."

"Fine, alright, I can work with fine." He said lowly, letting go of my wrist.

I run my hands through my hair, wiping the tears that managed to escape. Jack grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to him, engulfing me in a hug.

"Please believe me when I say I love you, I know this wasn't the best way for the first 'I love you' to be said but it's true." He whispered in my ear, running his hand down my hair and back.

"I don't wanna lose you, Jack." I mumbled, wrapping my arms tightly around his neck.

"And you won't. I've already told you this, Sky. I'm completely yours."

"Jack?" I looked up at him.

He lifted his head and look down at me, "Yeah?"

I licked my lips, "I think I love you too."
