- Jacks POV -
A week later
"I don't know how to tell her." I sighed, running my hands through my hair in frustration.
"You're gonna have to sooner or later. You know sooner is better." Johnson shrugged, giving me a sympathetic look.
"It's gonna crush her." I groaned.
"Well you can't not tell her. If you don't tell her it's gonna crush her even more." Johnson noted.
I sighed, he had a point. No matter how hard this is gonna be on not only me but her I'm gonna have to tell her. I just wish there was an easier way for me to say this. I just hope it doesn't have a bad outcome.
One thing for certain, I don't wanna lose Skylar.

Gathering the bouquet of flowers and bag full of her favorite candy, I closed my car door and made my way up to her front door. I took a deep breathe and rang her doorbell.
"Don't sweat it, Jack. You got this." I muttered to myself, lowering my head and sighing.
I heard her footsteps from behind the door and then the door swung open, her beautiful smile painted on her face and her mouth agape at the gifts I brought.
"Jack.." She dragged out, furrowing her eyebrows.
"I know you hate cliché things, but just let it slide this once." I smiled.
She opened her mouth to say something but closed it and smiled, "Thank you Jack. I appreciate this."
She stepped to the side and let me in, closing the door behind us as she grabbed the flowers. She looked at them and let out a huge sigh, smiling and shaking her head.
"Don't sigh like that, Sky." I nudged her, wrapping my arm around her waist.
She tried to stiffer a smile but I grabbed her sides, making her jerk and giggle, "Stop," she whined, hitting my chest lightly.
"Smile for me." I spun her around so she was facing me completely.
She faked a smile, showing all her teeth and closing her eyes tight, making her faint dimples show, "I didn't know you had dimples." I pointed out, poking them lightly.
She shrugged, "They're only there if I force them."
"Well they're cute." I pursed my lips and raised my eyebrows, "And so are you." I added.
She rolled her eyes, scrunching up her face, "God you're cheesy." She groaned, shaking her head and walking towards the living room, placing the flowers in an empty vase.
"But you love it though." I chuckled, walking right behind her.
She laughed, "No,"
I gasped playfully, "Wow, okay, that hurt."
She smiled and ran to me, wrapping her arms around my torso and looking up at me, "I kid, I kid, I love it...sometimes."
I chuckled and kissed her forehead softly. She grabbed my cheeks and pressed her lips on mine, wanting more. I felt myself smile in the kiss, grabbing her waist and pulling her as close to me as physically possible.
I knew if I lost this feeling that Skylar gave me when ours lips collided, it would leave a scar. No doubt about it.
I held onto her and kissed her like it would be my last time because it might just be. The thought of her leaving me made my heart ache. I cared so much about her, I didn't wanna hurt her. I promised her I wouldn't and I might just break that promise. But I had no choice, I gotta tell her.
I pulled away slowly, my lips lingering on hers with my eyes closed and jaw clenched. "Babe," She mumbled, "what's wrong?" She asked, holding my hand that was rested on her cheek.
I sighed and slowly opened my eyes only to be met with her concerned ones, "Let's sit down, I gotta tell you something." I suggested, pulling her towards the couch.
We both plopped down on the couch and sat there in silence for a few minutes. I rubbed my sweaty hands on my jeans, exhaling loudly, avoiding her eyes.
"Alright, you're scaring me." She spoke up, "What's wrong?"
I clasped my hands together and looked over at her, "Sky, you know how much I care about you right? You know I wanna be with you, very badly right?" I asked for reassurance.
She nodded slowly, her eyebrows knitted together and worry taking over her expression.
"I-I," I stuttered, running my hands through my hair.
Skylar got up and stood in front of me, grabbing my face and forcing me to look at her. She crouched down so we were at the same eye level.
"Talk to me." She whispered, her thumbs caressing my cheeks.
I grabbed her face and kissed her hard, needing one more taste before I tell her what's been on my mind and bugging me for a few weeks. She pulled away after a few minutes, licking her lips.
"Come on, Jack. Spit it out!" She exclaimed, basically pleading me.
I took a deep breath, "I'm moving to California."
