Sophie POV:

When Linh finally got most of the flames extinguished, the Councillors told everyone to stay while they assessed the damage.

But, of course, Sophie wouldn't listen. She had to see the damage. If it was bad here, under the Mediterranian Sea, then imagine what it was like on the mainland! What if Amy and her parents were hurt? . . . Dead? Sophie didn't want to go there.

Elwin protested, saying she still had some burns, but she didn't care.

She ran out behind the Councillors, followed by Keefe, then Fitz, and Biana. The three wouldn't leave her side ("In case you do something rash," said Biana).

"Whoa," Biana and Sophie said simultaneously.

Atlantis was still pretty intact; only a few of the taller buildings were set on fire, and there were a few small forcefield breaches. But that's not what had surprised them.

When Jupiter had been about to crash into them, the entire city glowed dark red. Now, the sea seemed red. The water flowing through the cracks in the forcefield were still blueish, but the "sky" was bloodred.

"Look," Sophie said, pointing at the dented dome of their planet once she and the others had gotten back on land. "We can see the creatures in there."

That was true.

There was little fire there; the crash had happened mostly in the ocean, but there were burning columns and groups of fleeing creatures.

"Dragons," Councillor Bronte said, voice hushed and interlaced with a sort of . . . fear?

"Dragons? I'm pretty sure I can take one or two down. Unlike you guys." she said, jerking her head towards the goblins.

The goblins grunted and scowled. "EXCUS—"

"No, you can't." Magnate Leto said, joining them. "They have scales, some can breathe fire and other such abilities. They're like us; different abilities, but they're stronger."

"I'm sure I can," Ro said, sharpening her blades. "They can't be that hard to defeat."

Understatement of the year.

The Council had come to a decision.

There would be an Elvin army of Flashers, Shades, Psionpaths, Hydrokinetics, Conjurers, Vanishers, Polyglots and Frosters, including Grady, Biana, Linh, Edaline, Elwin, Wylie, Tam and, of course, Sophie and her bundle of abilities.

Naturally, Fitz and Keefe wanted to come.

But when the Council decided to let Sophie take one person, she chose Marella, much to their dismay.

"And here we go. Fitzy here is going to say—" Keefe started.

"But I'm your Cognate!" Fitz said.

"Right on cue," Keefe said smugly.

Fitz glared at him.

"But Marella's a—" Sophie paused, and then seemed to remember that after the Celestial Festival, everyoen knew about Marella's new ability. "—pyrokinetic," she finally said. "That's much more . . . helpful than an Empath or a Telepath, right?"

"You're a Telepath," Marella said snarkily.

"And an Inflictor, Polyglot, Enhancer and Teleporter," Sophie said.

"We don't need the full resume," Ro snorted.

"Sophie, I assume that you can teleport everyone to that other planet." The Councillors interrupted. To their 'army', they said, "Find the creatures in there and under all circumstances, do not let them know where you come from. Never let them in here. Understood?"

"Yeah, but, you know . . . how exactly do we stop these dragons from coming here? Can't they just eat us?" Marella asked, earning several surprised and horrified looks.

"Well, that is up to you. We know this a sort of impossible task, but we don;t have another choice. And before you object, we strongly suggest that you do not back out. Because if you do, there may be a chance that the dragons will come in and steal our planet. We do not want that. And we don't think you do too," Councillor Emery regarded their group with a scruntinizing eye, making everyone cower—if only a bit. "Good luck," the Councillors all chorused, as if they weren't going on a possibly-suicidal mission.

People looked at each other nervously, then started making a chain so that they could teleport to that other planet.

Sophie took a deep breath, then started to levitate higher.

About after three seconds, she was yanked back to the floor.

Looking at the chain of elves, who was just standing there, she said, "Do you think my telekinesis is strong enough to lift fifty elves? No, I don't think so. Levitate yourselves up there!"

"Oh." was the only response.

Finally, they could begin their journey to the dragon planet.
