Biana POV:

After Sophie had told the dragons what the member of the Neverseen (who was still unknown) had said, they told her something and began to fly towards the mainland.

The dragon Biana rode on was constantly changing colors —red, yellow, orange, pink—and kept talking, not that Biana knew what she was talking about. But she sounded really excited. And often turned invisible. Which suited Biana, although it was a bit terrifying riding on air.

Only Sophie, Fitz, Linh, Tam, Marella, Maruca, Wylie and herself had been allowed on this trip, as they each had abilities that varied and could possibly help them. Keefe was still in the Healing Centre. It had only been a day . . . but it was still worrying.

Grady had insisted he went with them too, but the Councillors said the smaller the group, the better (not that the group was really small).

Biana rode on the colorful dragon alone, but Wylie and Maruca shared a fidgety greenish-blue dragon while Tam and Linh shared the pinkish- bluish dragon that captured the other Neverseen member.

Now that member was clutched in the pinkish-bluish dragon's talon, and Tam and Linh were climbing back on top of the dragon's back.

Once on the mainland, the dragons called out and more new dragons came pouring out of a large (for the elves since it was dragon-sized) hut.

Everyone slid off the dragons' backs, and Sophie asked something to the white dragon she rode. He nodded and the other dragons went into the hut.

"What do we do now?" Linh asked.

"Winter—the white dragon—told us to wait out here while he and the others that came to get him to tell the dragons that were here what happened and why we're here. He's also finding a place to stash the Neverseen member." Sophie explained.

"Who is it?" Biana asked.

Sophie facepalmed. "I totally forgot to ask! Should we go catch up to them now?"

Marella shrugged. "Why not? We have nothing to do right now."

So the group made their way to the hut, but it took all of them pounding their fists on the door to get someone to open it.

A yellow dragon bigger than the ones from before opened the door and said something. After what seemed like forever, Sophie managed to explain why they were here and what they wanted to do. The yellow dragon nodded and beckoned them into the hut.

Inside were eleven dragons; three green ones with leaf-shaped wings, two yellow ones (including the one that had opened the door), two greenish-bluish ones, a black one with teardrop scales beside her eyes, the colorful dragon Biana rode, a butterfly one and Winter.

Biana sighed and suddenly wished they could understand each other.

If Sophie had to translate everything, it would be so hard and take so long to get one piece of information.

If—

A sudden thrashing noise came from above Biana's head and she looked, startled, at the ceiling.

A sack was attached to the ceiling by a thick rope and the thing inside it was... moving.

"What is that?" Biana yelped in surprise.

"Hggrl growl groar roar." a voice said.

Biana whipped around. It was the voice of a green dragon with leaf-shaped wings. She frowned, as if remembering they couldn't understand each other. Biana tried her best to mime what she asked: "What"—an exaggerated version of the universal 'what' gesture—"is"—more shrugging—"that?"—pointing to the sack.

The dragon frowned, then brightened. She growled a bit, then tried miming as well. She scowled as if she were evil, then pointed to Biana. If she was translating correctly, it was the Neverseen member the pinkish-blue dragon—Anemone—had captured.

"Who?" Biana asked, then pretended to be thinking about something, and pointed at Linh, who happened to be close by.

As Willow peered into the sack and picked up the thrashing elf, Biana held her breath as Willow slowly lifted the hood of the member of the Neverseen.

Vespera.
