Marella POV:

The dragons grabbed—rather harshly for an injured person—everyone and stacked them on their backs. Marella ended up sitting behind the human who could talk Dragon on Sky.

She knew she was a human because there were no elves on the dragon planet other than themselves. And besides, they weren't nearly as pretty (imaginary hair flip in Marella's head).

"So. Hi," Marella said. "Who are you?"

Wren looked at Marella with an odd expression.

"Oh, Enlightened language, sorry," Marella turned to Dex, "Can you make a translator?"

"With what?" Dex yelled over the sound of dragon wings, "Leaves? Twigs? TREES? I need some wire!"

Marella wanted to facepalm. He could make a translator out of trees! Ah well, if he was going to be the lazy monkey he was, then that was too bad. "Okay, Marella! Catch!" Dex tossed something at her a few minutes later.

It was a ball of vines, hastily put together, with several thorny things poking her hands as she caught it. In the center of it was a miniature tree, made out of leaves and twigs. "I TOLD YOU!" Marella yelled at Dex.

"Told him what?" Wren asked, flipping herself so that she was facing Marella now. "What were you speaking? That wasn't Dragon or Human at all. And how am I understanding you? Where are you from, actually?"

"That's a lot of questions," Marella observed wryly. Wren was probably around her age—maybe fifteen, but she had no idea if humans grew differently than elves. She was not the one who'd grown up with humans. But Marella answered, "We're from that planet that crashed a few weeks ago? Ring any bells? Big explosion and all,"

"Oh!" Wren's eyes widened. She yelled at her friends, who were currently sitting on Moon, "THEY'RE FROM THAT MYSTERY PLANET!"

Ivy and Leaf—was that their names, even?—turned around in surprise. Then they immediately began a shouting match of 'I told you so!' and 'They're not more dragons!' and 'YOU DOOFUS THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE HUMAN!'

Dex and Maruca shook their heads at her from the perch on Qibli, "Should we start yelling too?" Dex asked. "I feel left out."

"No," Moon said sharply, and the three humans shut up. "We can't attract attention from that 'dragon' thing. We're going to the Healing platform. To wait and see what it is."

"I bet you anything it's Lady Gisela or some other Neverseen coming to brag about having Sophie again," Dex grumbled.

"Or," Wren pointed out, "they could be here for me,"

Everyone turned to look at her in surprise. "You?" Leaf asked with a pang of worry.

"Yeah," Wren scowled at him through the darkness. "Undauntable—"

Leaf laughed, "You trusted Undauntable?"

"No! But he told me—"

"How?" Leaf interjected. "We practically live on the run."

"We're exploring, actually," Ivy corrected. "Although maybe Wren's living on the run if Undauntable's chasing—"

"IT'S NOT UNDAUNTABLE CHASING ME! IT'S HIS DAD!" Wren shouted over her friends.

Leaf and Ivy blanched.

"Who's that?" Marella asked.

"Just about the most powerful human in the world. Our world," she added dryly.
