After my latest high fuzzes out, I walk into Thor's new hospital room to find he's breathing without life support.

As soon as I enter, Hela pulls me back out into the hallway "Where have you been? We were worried, sick." she speaks, tiredly.

"Driving, mostly." I lie. In actuality, I spent the past two days on a bathroom floor in the hospital. I only left once, to get more drugs.

She pulls me into a hug and insists "You can't just run off without telling us where you're going!"

"I know." I state, emotionlessly. She pulls away and I ask "Where's everyone else? Did they go home?"

She nods, before explaining "I don't want to leave, just yet. Are you staying tonight, or going home?"

I look back to Thor's rising and falling chest, before nodding "I'm going to stay here." she smiles and I nudge her "I'm going to use the bathroom. I'll be right back."

I walk to the nearest bathroom, outside of the room, and set the toilet seat down to put my bag on it.

After locking the door, I pull out a small bag that contains: smack, needles, alcohol pads, clean water, a spoon, and a shoelace.

Silently, I go about preparing the syringe and tying off my arm. The rush is almost instant, when I pump that skag into my veins.

The next morning, I awaken to find I'm the only one in the room. The clock reads five and I'm certain that Hela is in the cafeteria.

Silently, I slip into his bathroom and shoot up. When I get down, Hela sits on the couch "Hey." she gives a weak smile as I scratch my forearm.

I give a hum, before sitting down and looking towards Thor's bed. After a minute, Hela calls out "Hey!" I look to her and she cocks her eyebrow to me "You okay?"

I nod, before stating "Just a little out of it." She gives a weak smile and I shrug "I'll be fine soon."

She nods, before motioning to Thor "Part of me thinks I can wake him up, just by being here." she looks down "It doesn't seem to work."

I give a pleased look, before standing and taking Thor's hand. When I press my lips to his, gingerly, I feel his hand move just a little.

When I look down to his hand, Hela gasps and I look back at her to find tears in her eyes "What happened?" I hear Thor whisper, groggily.

After processing it, I look to him and smile down at him "You were in an accident, and you had to go into surgery."

He furrows his brow, tiredly "Where's mom and dad?" He asks, before looking squinting "Did we win the game?"

Hela gives a happy smile, before explaining "Mom and dad are at home, getting some rest. It's Thursday, Thor."

He hums as Laufey walks in "What the fuck are you doing here?" Thor asks and I take his hand "What the fuck is he doing here?"

I set my jaw as Laufey sits in the chair close to the door "He's the one who patched you up." Thor gives me the most violated look and I kiss his hand "No biggie."

Laufey clicks his pen and sighs "I'm just going to ask a few questions, to assess the extent of the damage."

"Loki?" he asks and I look to him "Lift the blanket up from over his feet." silently, I do and he orders Thor "Can you try to wiggle your toes for me, please?"

Thor's silent and still for a moment, before admitting "I can't move my legs." Hela gasps in upset.

Laufey nods as I cover his feet "That doesn't necessarily mean that you're paralyzed. It could be the pain medication, or the fact that you've been in a coma for five and a half days."

He writes something down, before tossing me a foam ball. When I hand it to Thor, I insist "Squeeze the ball for me."

A frown appears on my face as he gives it a good squeeze "Normal on his right." I place the ball in his other hand and state "Normal on his left."

Laufey sighs and Hela asks "Is that bad?"

I take the ball back and turn to Hela "If it was the coma, or the drugs, causing the lack of mobility in his legs, it would be the same in his arms."

"That doesn't mean he's paralyzed." Laufey interrupts, before pointing out "On Monday, we did a spinal tap to insure that he would be safe to come off life support. It could have caused temporary side effects, such as: swelling, bruising, compression of the spinal cord, etc."

I turn towards Thor to find he's already asleep again "He'll be pretty groggy for awhile." I tell Hela.

Laufey hums, before taking the ball from me and squinting to get Thor's vitals "In a few days, I'd say he'll be able to move around the hospital. If all goes well, he'll be home next week."

Hela gives a weak smile, before picking up her phone "I should call home. Mom and dad would like to know Thor is awake and you're safe." she looks between Laufey and I "You good?"

I give a short nod and she kisses my cheek, before walking down the hall. Silently, I take a seat on the couch and disregard Laufey.

After a long moment, he asks "You love him?" I cock an eyebrow to him "Do you love Thor Odinson?"

I scowl at him "I fail to see how that's any of your business." he gives a smug sneer and I sigh "I moved out of your house, haven't bothered you since, what could you possibly want from me?"

"You'll see." he replies, before pointing to my forearm "Your friends don't know about that, do they?"

I glare at him, before standing up and walking out of the room, only to be followed by Laufey, who fakely gasps "They don't know?"

I set my jaw and tighten my grip on my backpack "They don't need to know." I insist, before stopping to let a nurse pass.

He gives a pleased look, before declaring "Not until you kill yourself." I cock my eyebrow to him and he starts down the hall.

"What did I ever do to you?" I ask after a moment. He turns and speaks with utter disregard.

"You lived."
