Chapter 11

I woke up to my alarm clock. I looked out the window to see snow falling. I love snow. I got changed into skinny jeans, boots, and a green cardigan over a black tank top. I put on my coat as I walked out the door.

When I arrived at school, I felt the snow in my hair start to melt. I went to my locker and pried my jacket off. There was a permanent smile plastered on my face.

"Hey Paige." Alex said as he strolled over to me.

"Hey Alex, I need to tell you something at lunch." I said as I walked away. I laughed at the confused look on his face.

I walked into Math class and sat behind Elliot.

"Why are you so smiley today?" he asked with his own smile. I shrugged.

"You'll find out later." I stated.

The rest of the class, he kept asking, but I wouldn't give.

Lunch finally came, and both boys were curious to what I had to say.

"So?" they asked at the same time.

"We are all going to Miami for Holiday Break." I said. I looked at their shocked faces.

"Awesome, let me call my mom." Alex said.

Elliot pulled me over to him, so no one could hear what he was going to say.

"I can't afford that, and I can't leave my mom alone." He whispered into my ear.

"My mom paid for three extras tickets." I stated. "Your mom is coming. You both need a break from him."

"Thank you." Elliot said as he pulled me closer.

"Hey, how much is my ticket gonna be?" Alex asked. I turned my body on Elliot's lap.

"My mom already bought them. You don't need to pay me back." I said with a smile.

"Sweet. This is going to be amazing." Alex said.

The rest of the day continued, and during last hour, our History teacher gave us an extra credit opportunity.

"For all of you that have already finished your projects, you may present a few days early for fifty points extra credit." Mrs. Hills said.

I looked at Elliot if he wanted to do it, and he nodded at me. I was happy because I was trying to get straight A's this year.

"Now is there anyone who would like to volunteer?" Mrs. Hills asked. I put my hand in the air nonchalantly. "Very good."

The final bell rang, and Elliot was waiting by my locker.

"Maybe we should work on the actual presentation part?" he asked.

"Yeah, should we do it at mine our yours?" I asked. I didn't really care, despite what I saw the last time.

"We can do it at your house." He said not looking at me. I put my hand on his shoulder.

"It's fine, really." I reassured him.

"I know, but still." He said while gazing into my eyes.

"Ok, we'll do it at my house." I said with a smile.

We walked to my house. I quickly looked into the mailbox before we walked in. I saw that my mom had sent the tickets.

"Here you go." I said as I put the two of the tickets into his pocket.

"You didn't have to, you know?" he said.

"Oh yes, I did. You seriously need a break, and it would have killed me not knowing what was happening to you guys. Plus, it is a business trip, so I'd be alone most of the time, and it would get boring." I shrugged.

He pulled me close to him. I loved when he did that.

"Now let's work on that project." I said as I pulled him into my house.

We only had to present the speech, slideshow, and display. We practiced it several times, and I believed that we had it down. This was going to be the easiest A I ever got.

"I'll call you later, ok?" Elliot said as he walking out the door. I grabbed his arm.

"Don't tell him. Hide the tickets, and only tell your mom. Be careful." I told him as I hugged him.

"I will, don't worry." He said as pushed my hair out of my face.

He leaned closer to me, and kissed me on the cheek. He walked out of my house, and I was alone. I sighed. This day went by great. I went to my room and decided that it was time for me to go to bed. I was exhausted.
