Chapter 39

On Friday, practice resumed. Ashley’s wrist turned out to be slightly bruised, but it was ok. After practice, I showered and got dressed. I made my way to my locker. I grabbed my books and walked to Math.

I walked in as soon as the bell rang. I quickly walked over to my seat. I finished the assignment.

“Elliot, so can you go tonight?” I whispered in his ear.

“I don’t know. Probably after 10 I’ll be there.” He said as he turned around to face me. Whoa, he was a little close there. I blushed slightly and backed away. He smirked at me and turned back around.

I walked home and looked through my closet to see what I should wear. I threw on a tight, long-sleeved dress that went down to my mid-thigh. It was black, and I paired it with black heels. I put on some mascara, brown eyeliner, and a shimmery eye shadow. I put on my jacket and walked to the party.

I walked into Thomas’ house to see it set up like the last party. I saw Alex, Connor, and some other kid. I strolled over to them.

“Hey guys.” I said.

“Hey Paige, this is Drew.” Connor said while gesturing to the boy with dark brown hair and green eyes.

“Hi. Are you new?” I asked him.

“Kind of. I came right before Holiday Break. I hear you’re pretty awesome at basketball though.” He smiled.

“Yup.” I returned his smile. I glanced down at my phone. It was 9:45. I had fifteen minutes to kill until Elliot came.

“Waiting for Elliot?” Alex smirked.

“Yup.” I said again.

“Is that her boyfriend?” Drew asked.

“No, we are just really close friends.” I shot a death glare at Alex who was laughing at me

“Oh yeah, real close friends.” He laughed.

“Oh shut up.” I played with him as I felt a blush starting to form.

“Aw, she’s blushing.” Connor cooed.

“I’m leaving now, bye.” I laughed at them.

I looked at the front door to see Elliot. I ran over to him and hugged him.

“Hey there.” He said as he hugged me back.

“Hi.” I said as I blushed. Thank God he was still hugging me.

Someone bumped into us, and I almost fell, but he caught me.

“Let’s get outta the crowd.” He said, and I nodded. He led me to a couch out of the way of anyone else.

He sat down, and I sat next to him.

“You sure you don’t wanna dance?” I asked him. He hesitated.

“Fine, but I’m not that good.” He warned me.

I led him to the dance floor, and we started moving to the beat. It was really fun, and he wasn’t that bad. Someone accidentally pushed me, and I fell into his arms.

“Sorry.” I said as I tried to pull away, but he wouldn’t let me. I looked up to his blue eyes, and his lips pressed against mine.

I automatically wrapped my arms around his neck as he snaked his hands around my waist. I opened my mouth to deepen the kiss. He pulled away just a little, and he began kissing my neck. I felt a surge of electricity run through me, but then I realized what I was doing.
