Steve couldn't last any longer without her. He loved her and he couldn't live in a world where she is dead. So he had to go back. Go back where the love of his life was alive. Where they could live together. Where they could love forever.
2011
Steve walked warily down the street (Sorry, couldn't resist it) in search of the woman he had lost. He could have gone back to see Peggy, to get their dance but he couldn't. Not when she ended up with happiness, he was never the selfish type. So instead of going to dance, he went to see the woman he had lost. The woman he had never told that he loved he. Steve had gone to see Natasha.
Her medium length red hair bounced when she walked. Now, Steve was going to regret this in around a second but it wouldn't stop him. An arm whipped out and grabbed Natasha, she frantically fought back but was struggling due to his super strength. "Natasha, it's me," her green eyes sought out his blue eyes and it was only then that she relaxed.
"What the hell Rogers?! I thought you were going to kill me!" Her angry voice was followed by a laugh from the Captain. Who in fact, was finding this hilarious. After they made their peace he decided to try and explain to her how he was there. Because it wasn't going to be long until she bumped into the other him. But how was he meant to explain he came from the future after she died so he could get her back? And spend a life with her. He had to though. He would have to figure it out. "Nat, okay listen and I promise I'm not lying. I came from 2023 after a battle with a villain called Thanos. A few of you sacrificed yourself for the world. I came back here so I could tell you that I love you. I love you and it would be great if we could spend a life together."
She looked at him with her mouth slightly gaping over. I can't tell if she wanted to laugh at his remark but she didn't. She stood there and stared at him. Steve waited for a response, eagerly hoping she would believe him. That Natasha would wrap her arms around her and kiss him. Hoping that she would cry from happiness. But instead, she walked away.
