There is a girl with a perfect life. Her mother and father always loved her and always cared for her. Whether she was in the darkest times and in the brightest, they were always there for her. Her family's house was the biggest on the block. As well as most glamorous with their beautiful lawn and modern style home. Not to mention that this girl had great friends and social life. She has a great life and she was even better. With her [h/c] hair and beautiful [f/c] wings. What more could she ask for in life? You opened your door and looked at the perfect girl with the perfect life.
Yeah, you lived right next door...
You stepped out of your little home and onto the ratty, old mat. You glanced behind you, in search of your little sister, Skyla.
"Hey, Skyla hurry up," you yelled as you peeked at your leather watch. The glass of it had a large crack in the lower right, however, after having it for so long you got used to it. The time was 7:30 and if you didn't leave now, your sister was going to miss her bus. You turned back to the open door and shouted, "Skyla!"
"I'm here, I'm here," she notified as she dashed to the door. You gave her a once over, making sure she was set. She wore a pastel pink shirt and sky blue shorts. On her feet were a pair of white sneakers with pink laces, which were tied and double knotted. Her [h/c] hair was in a single bun on the top of her head with a little bow in front. Last but, not least she had her pink backpack and lunch box, which had a ham and cheese sandwich plus bbq chips inside. She was set.
"Good," you beamed as you locked the wooden door, "I don't want you to miss your bus." She simply nodded and began to skip down the steps towards the sidewalk. You followed her as your eyes scanned your lawn, which was a bit overgrown. I need to mow that soon, you thought as you strolled beside your sister to her bus stop.
After walking three blocks, you began to approach the corner of Owler Lane and First Wood. This was the lovely spot where your sister's bus picked her up for kindergarten. In the distance, you could see people standing there. What? Did someone move, you thought. Before it was only your sister, who would be at this bus stop.
"Oh my god Frisk I can't wait for school," a child's voice cheered as they bounced up and down. As you neared, you got a better look at the kid. It was a small yellow lizard with a yellow and brown shirt. They seemed to wear a pair of flying goggles except, theirs were too big. Must be the parents, children don't receive any flying gear until they're a junior in high school. The figure beside them was a little girl with a blue and purple sweater. They had short brown hair and seemed to squint their eyes.
"Oh my goodness," your sister gasped as they stopped and grabbed your jacket sleeve, "Is that a monster?" Skyla's gasp seemed to draw the attention of the kids. They stopped speaking and watched you with weary eyes. Which made sense, if you think about it. Monsters were just released recently and were joining society slowly. However, most of the humans didn't like them being here. They believed that they were freaks and literal monsters, who would harm us and destroy our way of life. Your father was one of these people but, you on the other hand...
"Yes Skyla that is a monster," you informed her as you tried to walk forward, tugging your sleeve. "Let's go meet them," you smiled as observe the kids begin to relax. Skyla's eyes seemed to shine at the idea. She let go of your sleeve and ran to the other kids. You laughed quietly and walked lazily to them. In the distance, you could hear introductions and jokes being thrown around. Almost like clockwork as soon as you halted, the bus stopped and opened its doors. The other kids climbed onto the bus while your sister hugged you goodbye.
"Bye [Y/N]," Skyla said looking up into your [e/c] eyes.
"See ya Sunshine," you replied as you leaned down and kissed her forehead. "Be good and be nice to the kids," added as you let her go so, she could get on the bus.
"I will," she smiled as she waved to you and hopped onto the bus. You smiled and watched the bus until it was out of sight. You turned and searched in your pockets for 2 items. In your jacket pocket was a pair of white earbuds that were all tangled up. You sighed and began to untangle them, again. After that, you found your phone in your back pants pocket. It wasn't the newest and cleaner model but, more like its great, great, great grandmother. But, that didn't matter as long as you could get calls, texts, and listen to music. You were set. You plugged in your earbuds and played your favorite song. With one earbud dangling out and you strolled to school thinking, I wonder what the new kids will be like.
