Bert smiles as he enters the bar out of the rain and cold outside. Running his hand back through his long black and now wet hair as he takes off his wet coat. Walking over to where Gerard's talking with Mr. Pail at the bar, happy to see the beautiful red head smiling. Wearing what looks like Bert's hoddie that he left there by accident last week. Which Gerard seems to have found.
"Hey sugar." Gerard smiles as he looks at Bert, glad to see that he came tonight. Blushing lightly as he thinks about last night that they spent together, talking, going over what's going to happen, actually getting the chance to kiss.
Bert watches as Gerard slides his t-shirt off, sitting onto the bed. "I know you're embarrassed, but the first step is for you to come to me when the need or urge to drink, when it gets too strong."
"But I don't want to be a burden. I don't like talking about myself or problems. To you of all people, you're my- well, best friend with some benefits." Gerard says pulling the blanket over his lap. Having to cut himself off before he accidentally calls Bert his boyfriend.
"Baby in able to get better, you have to come to me. I don't care if I'm your best friend, boyfriend, sugar daddy or even husband. I don't give a damn. You're going to have bad days, I just need you to come to me when you have them." Bert says, earning a sweet laugh from Gerard at his sarcasm even during talks like these.
"Okay, I promise that I will. But only if you come to me when you're bothered or upset." Gerard compromises to feel like he has at least a little bit of control over the situation. But honestly appreciates that Bert's so persistent to help.
Bert laughs and softly kisses Gerard as he sits with him in bed before wrapping an arm around the red head.
"Hey Gee, sorry I'm late. I just stopped by and got us some coffee on the way here." Bert says as he hands Gerard the coffee. Knowing he's used to drinking whiskey to keep him up during shifts, especially double shifts like tonight. So he got him a coffee to help keep him up instead. Gerard smiles at the sweet gesture, and the fact that he got his favorite.
"And I got you one too. Sober up, your cab will be here soon." Bert chuckles as he hands Pail the coffee he got for him. Knowing this is the time Gerard calls him a cab to bring him home. Making Gerard smile as he admires how caring Bert is for others, always thinking of others before himself.
Pail thanks him and heads over to the couch across the bar where be begins sobering up from the coffee while he reads the daily newspaper.
"Thank you for the coffee. Can I get you anything sugar?" Gerard asks as he sips his warm and well needed coffee that Bert brought him. He's feeling a little odd not drinking alcohol like he usually does while waiting for his double shift to end. But hoping the urge will go away.
"No, no I'm fine. Though I can't help but to notice that you stole my hoodie." Bert grins teasingly as he nods to his hoodie that Gerard wears. But honestly he adores it, the way the rather oversized hoodie's sleeves are too long, the way it slips down his bare shoulder.
"It's raining and cold, I wanted to wear something comfy tonight, plus it smells like you." Gerard smiles, justifying the fact that he stole it. And not planning on giving it back to him anytime soon, or honestly ever.
"That's perfectly fine, keep it. You look better in it anyway." Bert smiles, biting his lip as his eyes roam down Gerard's body. The way his skinny jeans frame his ass and waist. The hoodie that is obviously too big for him, the way he pulls at the sleeves of it.
