It was safe to say that Lewis was Logan's biggest fan.

He was there by his friend's side for almost everything. Cheering him on from the front row, making sure he took care of himself while he was working, even being his plus-one for parties and other high profile events.

There was always speculation, from fans and news outlets and various other sources, that they were more than friends. But, no! That couldn't be right.

One night, waiting for Logan to get home from the studio, Lewis had been almost anxiously checking his houseplants. (Yes, they happened to live together too. Just for convenience! So Logan knew his house was being watched while he was gone, and so Lewis could move out of his mom's place and still feel safe.)

He was over an hour late, and Lewis was just about ready to call him when he walked in the door. He looked tired and worried, so Lewis did the logical thing and didn't berate him for being so late.

"You trust me, don't you?" Logan asked, once he got his jacket and shoes off.

"Of course I do," he said, grabbing his arm and leading him towards the kitchen. "I made dinner. Well... I tried, then failed, and ordered pizza."

Logan seemed almost grateful for the minor distraction, smiling as he sat on the counter like the disaster bi he was. Once Lewis handed him a plate, he sighed and said, "I got us into some shit, buddy."

"What happened?"

"I said the wrong things to our manager, and he thinks it'd be a good idea if we acted more like a couple when we're in public. We're already super close, and there's plenty of rumors going around anyway."

Lewis, who'd gotten his own plate of food and sat on the floor like the severely closeted gay he was, froze. "Dude... what the—"

"I know, I know. But... something about being positive role models, and it's going to be good for publicity. What would you have done if the singer of one of your favorite bands came out as being in a same-sex relationship?" Logan asked.

"Honestly?" Lewis set aside his plate, no doubt feeling too nervous to eat at the moment. "I wouldn't have been allowed to listen. I was barely allowed to listen to Queen, dude."

"Bad example. The fans already like you, man. It's up to you, but I need an answer by the morning." Logan sighed softly, then put his own food aside to get in the floor with his friend. "And don't do that thing where you make yourself miserable trying to make everyone else happy."

He took a deep breath in, then carefully took Logan's hand and intertwined their fingers. "If you think it's a good idea, I'll do it. You're the person I trust most, right after my mom."

It was all over the news a few days later. Well... at least the music scene news.

Logan El-Amin, singer of the popular hard-to-classify band With Love, was dating a man, his long-time best friend. A few articles mentioned said best friend by name, but most didn't give a shit.

His manager set up an interview with some magazine, like a knockoff Alternative Press, so that lead to the two of them having breakfast with a starry-eyed kid with an old fashioned tape recorder.

The kid's name was Bailey, and despite his general shakiness, he did a pretty good job. No embellishments or taking words out of context, just a simple but detailed account of what was said.

At one point, Lewis yawned, then said something about wanting coffee. But Logan stopped him from getting up, telling him, "You're already jittery enough, please don't add any more caffeine on top of it."

"Fine, sunshine," came his response, moving his chair close enough to lean on the younger man's shoulder.

Tentatively, Bailey asked, "Why do you call him sunshine?"

Lewis lifted his head enough to meet Logan's gaze for a moment, before settling back in and grabbing his mug of tea. "'Cuz he's my sunshine. He's always around to brighten my day, and y'know plants always need sunlight to grow."

It seemed like an inside joke, from the smiles both of them suppressed. Bailey himself smiled and kept scribbling down notes.

They said they'd been together for almost a year, but they'd been friends since high school. A shared love of music lead to them actually hanging out, and once Logan's band took off, they moved in together. And it was only a few months after that when they decided to date.

By the end of the interview, Lewis seemed calmer. Bailey asked if he could take a couple pictures to go with his article, and pulled out a baby blue Polaroid camera.

Logan moved his arm, so he could wrap it around his best friend. Lewis smiled, focusing at a spot on the wall behind Bailey. There had to be a bunch of similar pictures out there, but it didn't really matter.

But when Bailey shyly prompted for something sweet, Lewis moved before Logan. He shifted in his chair enough so he could press a kiss to Logan's cheek.

That issue of the music magazine was probably their most popular by far. It's amazing what the fandom will do, isn't it?
