EXPLANATION POST:

so many moons ago, when i was still friends with this one girl, she let me borrow a couple of her favorite books. they were like a cross between the tarot deck, the hunger games, and fuckin zombieland

and i loved it

but unfortunately, after the first two books in the series, either she just forgot that i wanted to read more or she just didn't have the books

so when i bought myself a tarot deck last week, i also found those books online and downloaded most of them. so,,, yeah

anyway, i've decided to at least attempt to work out my own version!!

the premise—

every few centuries, kids are born that represent the 22 major arcana cards. and then some major disaster happens that signals the start of this 'game' where the 22 kids have to fight until one of them is left. and that winner gets like temporary immortality, until the cycle starts again and they participate in the next 'game'.

characters— the major arcana card they represent

lewis— the empress. powers; taken directly from the books: Can create, shape, and control plants and trees. Can deliver poisons through claws and lips, and spores from hair and hands. Chlorokinetic scrying (can perceive through plants). Regeneration.

logan— the sun. powers; taken directly from the books: Solar embodiment (can emit sunlight from his skin and eyes). Solar manipulation (can burn enemies or strike them with madness and attack with solar winds and flares).

ronnie— judgment. powers; taken directly from the books: Flight, supernatural senses, speed, strength, healing, tracking, and endurance.

bailey— the fool or strength.
the fool. powers; taken directly from the books: Foresight, astral projection, clairaudience, telepathy, dream delivery/scrying/ manipulation, memory implantation and absorption, omniscience, and other game-keeping abilities never chronicled.

strength. powers; taken directly from the books: Animal manipulation (can control all creatures). Animal scrying (can borrow the senses of animals). Animal generation (her blood affects the physiology of creatures and can make them into her familiars). Enhanced senses, night vision.

ezra— death. powers; taken directly from the books: Touch of Death (can kill with contact). Death awareness (can sense dead things and approaching death). Superhuman speed, strength, endurance, dexterity, senses, healing. Controlled telepathy.

chase— temperance or the high priestess??
temperance. powers; taken directly from the books: Sin detection and pathokinesis (emotion manipulation). Her Weight of Sins power can magnify another's guilt and horror over past deeds. Is immune to the Empress's poisons. Enhanced senses, healing, throwing, and precise aiming.

high priestess. powers; taken directly from the books: Water manipulation, including tidal wave generation and flood creation. Hydrokinetic combat, shapeshifting, and constructs (can form water objects). Hydro scrying (can perceive through water). Hydroportation.

harry— possibly the hierophant. powers/skills; taken directly from the books: Mind control, mesmerism, pathokinesis (emotion manipulation). Genetic memory. Has an innate knowledge of sacrificial rituals. His mind control can last even after he's dead.

and uh,,, a disaster to kick off the thing this time,,,
i'm thinking maybe a flood??

i don't wanna follow the book for this one bc it has zombies and i'm really not in the mood to weave zombies into this lmao
