"Spencer! It's not Halloween for another two weeks!", Lucy exclaimed as she tried to get rid of the fake cobweb that she had just walked in right after opening the door to her boyfriend's apartment. She could hear Spencer laugh from the living room and rolled her eyes.
Before she had known Spencer, Lucy hadn't had a clue how much someone could love Halloween. But now she did. Spencer loved Halloween, even more than he loved Christmas or any other holiday of the year. Of course, he had started decorating his apartment shortly after his birthday and now it was full of cobwebs, fake spiders, bats, ghosts, pumpkins and so on. Lucy thought that it was cute how much Spencer loved that holiday but there were moments she was just annoyed. Like she was right now. It hadn't been her day today. Her laptop had crashed, the new books she'd ordered for the store didn't arrive although she'd gotten told that they'd be here today and she'd ran out of coffee.
And now those goddamn cobwebs. Muttering to herself, she pulled the sticky, white material from her face and shoulders while she walked into the living room. With a wide smile, Spencer was sitting on the couch, next to him his godson Henry. Lucy couldn't hide that she was surprised. She hadn't expected the eight-year-old boy here. Both were laughing loudly at Lucy and she rolled her eyes again. "Oh, of course you two think it's funny." But she couldn't hide a little smile as well now.
"Because it's funny!", Henry giggled and leaned against Spencer. Sighing, Lucy let herself fall on the couch next to Spencer. She looked around while he pressed a kiss on her cheek and wrapped an arm around her shoulder.
"Your apartment really looks like Halloween itself threw up in here", she murmured as she glanced at all the pumpkins, cobwebs, scary masks and fake spiders.
"Halloween is one of the funniest days! It would be boring if it wouldn't be decorated in here!", Spencer defended himself and his love for that holiday. Now smiling, Lucy looked at him and couldn't help but find him incredibly cute. He was like a little child when it came to his favorite holiday. Suddenly, Henry jumped from the couch.
"Uncle Spence, can't we carve another pumpkin?", he asked excitedly and Spencer agreed.
"Of course! I still got one in the kitchen. Come on!" He stood up, held a hand towards Henry and as he grabbed it, Spencer leaned down to kiss Lucy before the two boys disappeared in the kitchen. Shaking her head at them, Lucy snuggled back into the pillows and turned on the TV. She had drifted off into a light sleep when someone gently shook her shoulder.
"Hm?", she murmured tiredly and when she opened her eyes again, she could see a cute, blonde haired face with glasses smiling at her.
"Lucy, uncle Spence and I finished carving our pumpkin! You want to see?", Henry asked.
"Sure", Lucy said and got up from the couch. This boy was just too cute to resist. She had no idea how JJ did it. How could someone ever say no to such an adorable boy?
"Oh wow, that looks great!", she exclaimed as she saw the finished pumpkin. Spencer and Henry both smiled widely.
"Halloween's not that bad, right?", Spencer said when Lucy came over and sat down on his lap. He wrapped his arms around her waist and she put hers around his neck.
"Well...nope, it isn't. If you don't scare me anymore, Mister Reid."
"Promise", he grinned before he kissed Lucy, pressing her against him. "By the way, have you got any plans for Halloween?", Spencer asked.
"No, not really. I...haven't really celebrated that day so far", she confessed and his eyes widened.
"No way!", he exclaimed, what made Lucy laugh. She had already forgotten about the bad day she had been having. Spencer could do that; he could make her forget about all the shitty and bad things in her life. And she was extremely thankful for that.
Lucy leaned down and kissed Spencer. "Did you make a pumpkin pie as well?", she then asked. Spencer shook his head.
"Nope. That's something we should do right before Halloween!", he suggested. "And...I can't make a pie anyway", he added with a little grin and Lucy laughed.

On Halloween, Spencer was excited like a little kid on a Christmas morning. Thankfully, the team didn't have a case to work on that day, so Spencer dragged Lucy out of bed right after the sun was out, so they could bake pumpkin pies and scary cookies. Although Lucy had never really had a thing for Halloween, Spencer was making her start to like it. They had a lot of fun baking and throwing flour at each other until Spencer's kitchen was covered in white and it looked like it had been snowing inside.
"We need to clean everything before Luke, Penelope and Emily show up", Lucy chuckled as Spencer wrapped his arms around her from behind.
"We should organize someone to do that for us", he murmured into her ear and Lucy exactly knew what Spencer meant. He wanted to spend that time otherwise. But Lucy turned around in his arms and kissed his nose.
"Nope. Let's get it done and then...we still have time for other things", she said with a little smirk, running her hands over his chest.
"Happy Halloween!" A beaming Penelope stepped into Spencer's apartment, holding up wine and beer. Laughing, Lucy gave her a hug before she greeted Emily, Luke and much to Lucy's pleasure, Roxy. The dog shortly barked in happiness to see its owner's sister again.
"Wow, it looks like Halloween itself threw up in here", Luke murmured as he got rid of his coat and shoes and looked around.
Lucy laughed out loud. "That's what I said when I saw all that decoration", she grinned. Spencer was busy putting pumpkin pie and cookies on the coffee table so they could all make themselves comfortable soon and watch some horror movies.
"I don't know why I said yes to a horror movie night", Penelope sighed as she sat down next to Lucy. "I'm a very sensitive soul when it comes to all this. Don't we have enough horror at work already?" Luke rolled his eyes at her.
"You'll survive it, Garcia. You could hide behind me if you're too scared", he said with a smirk and patted her leg.
"Oh, newbie...", Penelope growled and if there had been popcorn, she'd definitely thrown some at him. Luke just laughed and crawled to the other side of the couch to save himself. After a short chat, they finally started the first movie: Scream.
"A classic one", Spencer grinned as he settled himself on the couch and wrapped an arm around Lucy. She snuggled into his embrace after grabbing a cookie that looked like a bat. Not even ten minutes into the movie and Penelope already squealed, grabbed a pillow and hid her face behind it. Everyone laughed at her but she could take it. She threw one of the pillows into Luke's direction when he didn't stop laughing.
"Hey!", he exclaimed. Roxy immediately came from her place to defend Luke, but when she saw that everything was alright, Roxy went to the other end of the couch and placed her head on Penelope's leg.
"Awww, good girl", she cooed and patted Roxy's head as she lay back again and the movie could continue.
